Energy In Brunei
Energy in Brunei is related to all of the type of energy and its related infrastructure used in Brunei. Natural gas and Diesel fuel, diesel are used significantly in Brunei to generate domestic electricity, as well as gasoline and diesel to power its roads. Domestic supplies were undoubtedly still safe, but they were still susceptible to disturbances that would result in power outages and a lack of gasoline. To reduce the country's susceptibility and the economic hazards brought on by interrupted power and fuel shortages, it is crucial to strengthen the dependability of these sources. History The first Hydrocarbon exploration, exploratory well was dug close to Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Town in 1899, marking the beginning of the country's oil business. Following that, the Seria oil field, Seria field in the Belait District was discovered in 1929, and a succession of industrial discoveries led to Brunei's first List of countries by oil exports, oil export in 1932. Gross Domestic Product
Gross domestic product (GDP) is a monetary measure of the total market value of all the final goods and services produced and rendered in a specific time period by a country or countries. GDP is often used to measure the economic performance of a country or region. Several national and international economic organizations maintain definitions of GDP, such as the OECD and the International Monetary Fund. GDP is often used as a metric for international comparisons as well as a broad measure of economic progress. It is often considered to be the world's most powerful statistical indicator of national development and progress. The GDP can be divided by the total population to obtain the average GDP per capita. Total GDP can also be broken down into the contribution of each industry or sector of the economy. Nominal GDP is useful when comparing national economies on the international market according to the exchange rate. To compare economies over time inflation can be adjus ... Lumut, Brunei
Kampong Lumut () or commonly known as Lumut, is a coastal settlement in Belait District, Brunei Daurssalam, about from the district town Kuala Belait. The total population was in 2016. Etymology The name Kampong Lumut is derived from a species of plant called ''lumut'' (moss) that thrives all over the village, especially in Kuala Sungai (now Sungai Lumut), prior to the construction of the Brunei LNG (BLNG) plant, according to sources obtained from the Heritage Magazine, which the Brunei History Centre published in September–December 2014 (the location in question is now the location of the BLNG Company building). Moss, also known as a bryophyte, is a kind of tiny, soft plant that grows in wet or shaded regions, and can range in size from one to ten centimetres. At that time, villagers made '' kapok'' from moss plants to use as pillows and beds. The residents gave the village the appellation Kampong Lumut as this plant grabbed not only the interest of the villagers, ... Natural Gas Power Station
A gas-fired power plant, sometimes referred to as gas-fired power station, natural gas power plant, or methane gas power plant, is a thermal power station that burns natural gas to generate electricity. Gas-fired power plants generate almost a quarter of world electricity and are significant sources of greenhouse gas emissions. However, they can provide seasonal, dispatchable energy generation to compensate for variable renewable energy deficits, where hydropower or interconnectors are not available. In the early 2020s batteries became competitive with gas peaker plants. Basic concepts: heat into mechanical energy into electrical energy A gas-fired power plant is a type of fossil fuel power station in which chemical energy stored in natural gas, which is mainly methane, is converted successively into: thermal energy, mechanical energy and, finally, electrical energy. Although they cannot exceed the Carnot cycle limit for conversion of heat energy into useful work, the exc ... Power Station
A power station, also referred to as a power plant and sometimes generating station or generating plant, is an industrial facility for the electricity generation, generation of electric power. Power stations are generally connected to an electrical grid. Many power stations contain one or more Electric generator, generators, rotating machine that converts mechanical power into three-phase electric power. The relative motion between a magnetic field and a Electrical conductor, conductor creates an electric current. The energy source harnessed to turn the generator varies widely. Most power stations in the world burn fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum, oil, and natural gas to generate electricity. Low-carbon power sources include nuclear power, and use of renewable energy, renewables such as solar power, solar, wind power, wind, geothermal power, geothermal, and hydroelectricity, hydroelectric. Residential Area
A residential area is a land used in which housing predominates, as opposed to industrial and commercial areas. Housing may vary significantly between, and through, residential areas. These include single-family housing, multi-family residential, or mobile homes. Zoning for residential use may permit some services or work opportunities or may totally exclude business and industry. It may permit high density land use or only permit low density uses. Residential zoning usually includes a smaller FAR ( floor area ratio) than business, commercial or industrial/manufacturing zoning. The area may be large or small. Overview In certain residential areas, especially rural, large tracts of land may have no services whatever, such that residents seeking services must use a motor vehicle or other transportation, so the need for transportation has resulted in land development following existing or planned transport infrastructure such as rail and road. Development patterns may be r ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Natural Gas
Natural gas (also fossil gas, methane gas, and gas) is a naturally occurring compound of gaseous hydrocarbons, primarily methane (95%), small amounts of higher alkanes, and traces of carbon dioxide and nitrogen, hydrogen sulfide and helium. Methane is a colorless and odorless gas, and, after carbon dioxide, is the second-greatest greenhouse gas that contributes to global climate change. Because natural gas is odorless, a commercial odorizer, such as Methanethiol (mercaptan brand), that smells of hydrogen sulfide (rotten eggs) is added to the gas for the ready detection of gas leaks. Natural gas is a fossil fuel that is formed when layers of organic matter (primarily marine microorganisms) are thermally decomposed under oxygen-free conditions, subjected to intense heat and pressure underground over millions of years. The energy that the decayed organisms originally obtained from the sun via photosynthesis is stored as chemical energy within the molecules of methane and other ... Champion Oil Field
Champion oil field also known as Champion Field is a complex oil and gas field, situated north-northwest of Bandar Seri Begawan, in shallow water depths of 10 to 45 metres. The Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP), which is jointly owned by Shell and the Bruneian government, is the owner and operator of the offshore field. The shallow part of the field is covered by coral reefs. History 1970s ''Champion field'' was discovered in 1970 by Champion-1 which is drilled in its most northern part. first oil platform was completed in 1972, to produce from shallow, oil-bearing intervals. 1974, a blow-out at Champion-41 caused a delay in the appraisal/development operations and to compensate for this delay, eight isolated appraisal wells were drilled in 1975 - 1976. The Champion West field was discovered in 1975 by well CW-1 and it is located approximately 7 km north-northwest of the Champion Main field and 15 km northeast of Iron Duke. The depth of Champion West's area is appr ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
