Energy And Minerals Business Council
The Energy and Minerals Business Council is a global business forum of mining and energy corporations formed in 2006 with an inaugural meeting at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne Hotel, in Melbourne, Australia on 18 November and 19 November 2006. The meeting was held to coincide with the 2006 G20 summit. Membership is composed of the world's most powerful mining and oil companies including BHP, Rio Tinto (corporation), Rio Tinto, Brazilian iron ore miner Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD), Woodside Petroleum, Saudi Aramco the state-owned national oil company of Saudi Arabia, Anglo American plc, Anglo American, PetroCanada and the BG Group. Mining is the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological materials from the Earth, usually from an ore body, lode, vein, seam, reef, or placer deposit. PetroCanada
Petro-Canada is a retail and wholesale marketing brand subsidiary of Suncor Energy. Until 1991, it was a federal Crown corporation (a state-owned enterprise). International Council On Mining And Metals
ICMM was founded in 2001, as a CEO-led leadership organization, to improve sustainable development performance in the mining and metals industry. Sustainable Development In late 1998 a small group of mining industry CEOs came together to question how the sector could grow its contribution to sustainable development. Through the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), they commissioned the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) to explore the role of the sector in the transition to sustainable development. Peter Howard Costello (born 14 August 1957) is an Australian businessman, lawyer and former politician who served as the treasurer of Australia in government of John Howard from 1996 to 2007. Rodrigo De Rato
Rodrigo de Rato y Figaredo (born 18 March 1949) is a Spanish politician who served in the Council of Ministers from 1996 to 2004. He also served as the ninth managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 2004 to 2007 and the president of Bankia from 2010 to 2012. Rato was arrested on 16 April 2015 for alleged fraud, embezzlement and money laundering. His case was still awaiting trial a year later when his name appeared in the Panama Papers.
