End of Fashion are an Australian pop rock band from Perth, Western Australia. The group gained mainstream attention with its 2005 single " O Yeah", which was voted into eighth position of the Hottest 100 poll, compiled by Australian youth radio station Triple J. The group has released three studio albums. In January 2014, the band took a hiatus before reforming for their first show on 22 September 2018 at the Indian Ocean Hotel in Scarborough. History 2004: Formation and first EPs The band was formed as a side project by guitarists Justin Burford and Rodney Aravena, together with drummer Malcolm Clark and bassist Jonathon Dudman. South by Southwest (SXSW) is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and Convention (meeting), conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas. The 2004 Triple J Hottest 100 was announced on 26 January 2005. It was the twelfth such countdown of the most popular songs of the year, according to listeners of the Australian radio station Triple J. Voters were limited to 20 votes each: 10 via SMS (charged at 30c each) and 10 via the Internet (no charge). Triple J presenter Craig Reucassel encouraged voters to vote for the '' Media Watch'' theme music on the condition that his counterpart Chris Taylor would do a nude run through the Big Day Out if it made the Hottest 100. While announcing the count, Reucassel called number 7 for the Media Watch theme, initiating Taylor on a streak through the music festival. Upon Taylor's return, Reucassel explained that Media Watch was ineligible due to not being recorded in 2004 and announced the real number 7. Betchadupa
Betchadupa was a New Zealand pop/rock group, formed in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1997. The band featured Liam Finn, Chris Garland, Joe Bramley, and Matt Eccles. Betchadupa (originally called Lazy Boy – the name change followed threatened legal action from the chair company of the same name) had its origins when Liam and Matt met whilst their families were on holidays in New Zealand. Their first song, written when both boys were 11, was called 'Gee This Sounds Good, I Can't Believe We Wrote It'. Their unique name was lifted from the text of a Polish-American's T-shirt that declared "You Betchadupa I'm Polish", ''dupa'' being the casual Polish word for ''arse''. Little Birdy is an Australian alternative rock band formed in Perth, Western Australia, in 2002 by singer and guitarist Katy Steele, drummer Matt Chequer, guitarist and keyboardist Simon Leach, and bass guitarist Scott O'Donoghue. They gained public attention when their single "Relapse" gained popularity on alternative radio stations such as Triple J, leading them to be signed by the record label Eleven: A Music Company.
