Animosity (band)
Animosity was an American death metal band from San Francisco, California, formed in 2000. The band released three studio albums, toured in the United States and Europe, and disbanded in 2009. The classic lineup of Animosity consisted of vocalist Leo Miller, guitarists Frank Costa and Chase Fraser, bassist Evan Brewer and drummer Navene Koperweis. History Animosity formed in 2000 in San Francisco, California. They released their debut album, ''Shut It Down (album), Shut It Down'', on Tribunal Records in 2003, which was recorded when the members of the band were 16 and 17 years old. In 2005, they released their second disc, ''Empires (Animosity album), Empires'', on Black Market Activities (with distribution through Metal Blade Records) and toured the United States with Origin (band), Origin and Malevolent Creation. Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. Black Market Activities (BMA) is an American independent record label that was founded in 2003 by Guy Kozowyk, the frontman of the Boston, Massachusetts-based extreme metal band the Red Chord. Navene Koperweis
Navene Koperweis (born May 31, 1985) is an American drummer, best known as the former drummer of Animosity, Hoods and Animals as Leaders. He currently plays for Entheos, and serves as session drummer for Job for a Cowboy and also Machine Head. Koperweis started drumming when he was eleven years old. He has played for The Faceless, and runs his technical death metal project, Fleshwrought, where he plays all instruments. He is also a dubstep/electronica producer, and has released an electronic EP, ''Human Design'', under the name Navene K.
