Division Of Riverina
The Division of Riverina () is an Divisions of the Australian House of Representatives, Australian electoral division in the states and territories of Australia, state of New South Wales. It is located in southwest New South Wales and includes the city of Wagga Wagga. Geography Since 1984, federal electoral division boundaries in Australia have been determined at redistributions by a redistribution committee appointed by the Australian Electoral Commission. Redistributions occur for the boundaries of divisions in a particular state, and they occur every seven years, or sooner if a state's representation entitlement changes or when divisions of a state are malapportioned. Kay Hull
Kay Elizabeth Hull (born 3 February 1954) is a former Australian politician who served as a National Party member of the House of Representatives from 1998 to 2010, representing the Division of Riverina in New South Wales. Hull was born in Guyra, New South Wales, and was a small business owner and operator before entering politics. She was a councillor of the City of Wagga Wagga from 1991 to 1998. A small caricature of her is displayed on a Regional Express Saab 340 aircraft. On 6 April 2010, Kay Hull announced that she wouldn't be contesting the next Federal election, after 12 years serving the Riverina electorate. In April 2010, Charles Sturt University named the Kay Hull Veterinary Teaching Hospital in its South Campus in honour of Kay Hull. Noel Hicks
Noel Jeffrey Hicks (born 4 November 1940) is a former Australian politician. He was a member of the House of Representatives from 1980 to 1998, representing the New South Wales seats of Riverina and Riverina-Darling for the National Party. He also served as mayor of Broken Hill in the 1970s. Early life Hicks was born in Adelaide on 4 November 1940. He was raised from the age of 15 by his uncle and aunt Dick and Edie Algate. He worked as a plumber and road design draftsman prior to entering politics. After moving to Broken Hill, New South Wales, he served on the Broken Hill City Council from 1971 to 1977, including two terms as mayor (1974–1975 and 1976–77). His term on the council concluded when he led his fellow councillors in a mass resignation over an industrial dispute between the Barrier Industrial Council and a council employee regarding the BIC's closed shop policy. John FitzPatrick (Australian Federal Politician)
John FitzPatrick (24 April 1915 – 28 July 1997) was an Australian politician. FitzPatrick was born and lived all of his life in Broken Hill, New South Wales and was a boilermaker before running for Parliament. He was elected for the Australian Labor Party as the federal member for Darling in rural New South Wales from 1969 to 1977 and as the member for Riverina from 1977 to 1980. FitzPatrick served his first four terms as the member for Darling, based on Broken Hill. It had been one of the few country seats where Labor consistently did well; indeed, it had been in Labor hands for all but a few months since Federation. As a measure of how safe this seat was, he retained it in 1975 with a majority of seven percent even amid Labor's collapse that year. Ahead of the 1977 federal election, Darling was abolished, and FitzPatrick opted to follow most of his constituents into neighbouring Riverina. John William Sullivan (born 7 February 1929) is an Australian former politician. Sullivan was born in Narrandera, New South Wales and educated at Narranderra High School, St Patrick's College, Goulburn, Royal Military College, Duntroon. He married Mollie O'Sullivan in July 1955 and they had two daughters and two sons. Sullivan was a representative for the Division of Riverina in New South Wales in the Australian House of Representatives from the 1974 federal election to 1977. He was a member of the National Party of Australia, which was named the ''Country Party'' when he joined Parliament and was renamed the ''National Country Party'' in the 1975 elections.
