It is named after nineteenth-century businessman and philanthropist Sir Thomas Elder. Nadia Clancy
Nadia Peace Clancy (born October 1986) is an Australian politician and former political adviser. She has been a Labor member of the South Australian House of Assembly since the 2022 state election, representing Elder. With a swing of 7.5 per cent, she defeated the incumbent Liberal Party member Carolyn Power, who had held the seat since 2018 with a margin of 1.9 per cent. Clancy was the unsuccessful Labor candidate for the federal division of Boothby in the 2019 Australian federal election and is a member of Labor's left faction. Clancy grew up in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, has a Bachelor of Arts in media and communications, and prior to her election to Parliament she had worked in communications and marketing roles for not-for-profit organisations and as an advisor to federal and state Labor politicians. Mitchell is a former electoral district of the House of Assembly in the state of South Australia. It was first created in the redistribution of 1969, taking effect at the 1970 election. Mitchell was replaced by Black at the 2018 election, resulting from the 2016 electoral redistribution. Mitchell was named after philosopher Sir William Mitchell. Mitchell was located in inner-south western Adelaide, and covered and encompassed the suburbs of Dover Gardens, Old Reynella, Reynella, Seacombe Gardens, Seacombe Heights, Seaview Downs, Sheidow Park, Sturt and Trott Park and parts of Darlington, O'Halloran Hill, Oaklands Park and Warradale. Westbourne Park is an inner southern suburb of Adelaide, the State capital of South Australia. The suburb was named after Westbourne, a village in Sussex, England, and was laid out in 1881. Melrose Park is a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Mitcham. It is bordered by South Road, Daws Road, Winston Avenue and Edward Street. Until 1989, Melrose Park was part of the suburb of Edwardstown.
