2022 World Games
The 2022 World Games, commonly known as Birmingham 2022, were an international multi-sport event held from July 7 to 17, 2022, in Birmingham, Alabama, United States. They were the 11th World Games, a multi-sport event featuring disciplines of Olympic sports and other competitions that are not currently contested at the Olympic Games; the Games featured 3,457 athletes competing in 223 medal events over 34 total sports. They were originally scheduled to be held in 2021, but were postponed by one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They were the second edition of the World Games to be hosted by the United States since their inaugural edition in 1981. Roberto Alexander Hernández Maldonado (born 9 January 1989) is a Salvadoran archer competing in men's compound events. He won the gold medal in the men's individual compound event at the 2019 Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru. As a result, he became the first man from El Salvador to win gold at the Pan American Games. He was the flag bearer during the Parade of Nations at the 2019 Pan American Games opening ceremony. In 2013, Hernández represented El Salvador at the World Games in Cali, Colombia and won the bronze medal in the men's compound event. Mathias Fullerton (born 27 May 2003) is a Danish archer competing in compound events. He won the gold medal in the men's compound event at the 2024 European Archery Championships held in Essen, Germany. He won the silver medal in his event at the 2021 European Archery Championships held in Antalya, Turkey. Fullerton is also a silver medalist in (mixed) team events at the 2023 World Archery Championships and 2023 European Games. Miguel Becerra González (born 11 March 1979) is a Mexican former football goalkeeper who last played for Santos Laguna. Playing career Miguel Becerra debuted with Chivas de Guadalajara taking over the absence of Oswaldo Sánchez who went with the World cup Squad who played in Korea/Japan 2002. He was transfer to Dorados de Sinaloa and played seven games there until leaving for Querétaro F.C. in which he was the starting goalkeeper for a period of time. Lisa Walker (born 1967) is a contemporary New Zealand jeweller. Education and training in New Zealand Born in Wellington in 1967, Walker graduated from Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin, in 1988 with a Certificate in Craft Design. Jyothi Surekha Vennam (born 3 July 1996) is an Indian compound archer. She has won multiple gold medals in the compound archery event at the Archery World Cup, World Archery Championships and Asian Games.
