The Centre (Evansville)
The Old National Events Plaza (formerly The Centre) is a convention center and auditorium in Evansville, Indiana, United States, that consists of a 2,500-seat auditorium, a exhibit hall, ballroom, and 12 flexible meeting rooms. The facility hosts small and medium-sized conventions ranging from 20 to 4,000 people. The auditorium is also frequently the site a variety of concerts and special events. Formerly known as Vanderburgh Auditorium, the building underwent a major renovation and expansion in the mid-1990s and was renamed the centre. The architects involved with the project included Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum, HOK Venue and Veazey Parrot & Shoulders. It is co-managed with the Ford Center (Evansville), Ford Center, Mesker Amphitheatre, and Victory Theatre. La Center is a city in Clark County, Washington, United States. The population was 3,424 at the 2020 census. History In the 1870s, La Center was a business center and head of navigation on the East Fork of the Lewis River. In late summer, the regular schedules of the steamers ''Mascot'' and ''Walker'', paddle-wheeling to Portland, were often interrupted by low water. Passengers and freight were transferred to scows, which were poled up the river or towed by horses along the bank. With the arrival of railroads and highways, La Center lost importance and lapsed into a small village serving the surrounding farming district.
