Eileen Garrett
Eileen Jeanette Vancho Lyttle Garrett (14 March 1892 – 15 September 1970) was an Irish medium and parapsychologist. Garrett's alleged psychic abilities were tested in the 1930s by Joseph Rhine and others. Rhine claimed that she had genuine psychic abilities, but subsequent studies were unable to replicate his results, and Garrett's abilities were later shown to be consistent with chance guessing.A. S. Subconscious
In psychology, the subconscious is the part of the mind that is not currently of focal awareness. The term was already popularized in the early 20th century in areas ranging from psychology, religion and spirituality. The concept was heavily popularized by Joseph Murphy's 1963 self-help book ''The Power of Your Subconscious Mind''. Parapsychology Foundation
The Parapsychology Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1951 by the medium Eileen J. Garrett and Frances Payne Bolton, Ohio's first female representative in Congress. The foundation is based in New York. They offer grants and scholarships to those undertaking study in the paranormal. The organization also founded the Eileen J. Garrett Library, which eventually made its way to Greenport, Suffolk County, New York. The contents of library have since been moved to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and have become the Eileen J. Garrett Parapsychology Foundation collection. Electrodermal activity (EDA) is the property of the human body that causes continuous variation in the electrical characteristics of the skin. Hereward Carrington
Hereward Carrington (17 October 1880 – 26 December 1958) was an American investigator of psychic phenomena and author. His subjects included several of the most high-profile cases of apparent psychic ability of his times, and he wrote over 100 books on subjects including the paranormal and psychical research, conjuring and stage magic, and alternative medicine. Carrington promoted fruitarianism and held pseudoscientific views about dieting. Early life Carrington was born in St Helier, Jersey in 1880. Hornell Norris Hart (August 2, 1888 – February 27, 1967) was an American professor of sociology and parapsychologist. He was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota and raised as a Quaker.
