Edwin William Gruffydd Richards (sometimes referred to as Edward; 15 December 1879 – 10 December 1930) was a Welsh field hockey player from Abergavenny who competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics where he won the bronze medal as a member of the Wales team. Richards was the son of Susanna Thomas and Edwin William Richards, an iron monger from Goytre. His father died from Typhoid on the 3 September 1879; Edwin was born later that year on 15 December. Eddie Richards, also known as Evil Eddie Richards and Jolly Roger, is a British DJ. He was one of the first DJs to champion house music back in the mid-1980s and one of the UK's original mix DJs residing at London's Camden Palace. Along with being a House pioneer, Eddie is also considered the "Godfather" of a subgenre of house, known as Tech House. Edward Richards (Massachusetts Politician)
Edward Richards (1610-1684) was an early settler of and nine term selectman in Dedham, Massachusetts. Life Richards was born circa 1610 -1615. He may have been the brother of Nathaniel Richards and, through his wife Susan, was brother-in-law of John Hunting. He may have traveled in 1632 on board the ''Lyon'' from England to Massachusetts with Nathaniel and settled in Cambridge, Massachusetts until 1636. Nathaniel moved to Connecticut to found Hartford, but Edward Richards first appears in Dedham in 1636, which is where he married Susan in 1638. He signed the Dedham Covenant and was a member of First Church and Parish in Dedham. Though Dedham was intended to be a Utopian commune, and there was little disparity in wealth, Richards went by the title of "Gent" and, unlike others, aspired to a manor.
