Edmond Jouhaud
Edmond Jules René Jouhaud (; 2 April 1905 – 4 September 1995) was one of four French generals who briefly staged a putsch in Algeria in April 1961. Early life Edmond Jouhaud was born on 2 April 1905 in French Algeria. He was a descendant of early Algerian pioneers from Limoges, in France. Military career Edmond Jouhaud entered the École spéciale militaire de Saint-Cyr in 1924. With the rank of commanding officer, Jouhaud led the resistance against German occupation in the region of Bordeaux since 1943. He fled to Britain in March 1944 to join the Free French Forces. As army general he had been the inspector general of the Air Force in French North Africa. After the failure of the putsch, he became the deputy of Raoul Salan in the Organisation armée secrète. Bousfer (formerly known as Aïn-Boucefar) is a municipality in Oran province under Ain el-Turck district. History The village was established in 1850 and built in full function joint in 1863, located in the opposite of the naval base of Mers el-Kebir. Army general or General of the army is the highest ranked general officer in many countries that use the French Revolutionary System. Army general is normally the highest rank used in peacetime. In countries that adopt the general officer four-rank system, it is the rank of a general commanding a field army. Paul Stehlin
Paul Marie Victor Stehlin (11 August 1907 – 22 June 1975) was a French general and politician. Military career Born in Hochfelden, Bas-Rhin, Stehlin spoke fluent German. He graduated from the French military academy in 1928. He was deputy air attaché in Berlin from 1935 to 1939, and took part in the Munich Conference. In the Second World War, he took part in the Norwegian campaign in 1940 and then commanded the III/6 Roussillon Fighter Group. He was captured by the Germans in 1941, but escaped to Africa. Initially stationed in Dakar (Fighter Group I/4), he then participated in the Anglo-American landing in North Africa and was liaison officer with the Allied air forces for General de Gaulle. Promoted to colonel in 1946, he was military attaché in London from 1947 to 1950. The Chief of the Air and Space Force Staff (, CEMAAE) is the military head of the French Air and Space Force. The chief directs the air and space force staff and acts as the principal advisor to the Chief of the Defence Staff (France), Chief of the Defence Staff on subjects concerning the Air and Space Force.
