Eddy Zervigon (born 7 July 1940) is a Cuban flautist and bandleader. He was born in Güines, Cuba but moved to the United States in 1962, where he founded the charanga band Orquesta Broadway Orquesta Broadway was an American mid-1960s/late 1980s New York-based salsa band. They issued almost 20 albums between 1964 and 1987. Orquesta Broadway and Típica 73 were two popular New York salsa bands that played in the ''charanga'' forma ... with his brothers Rudy and Kelvin. Flute

Güines
Güines is a municipality and town in the Mayabeque Province of Cuba. It is located southeast of Havana, next to the Mayabeque River. It is the most populated town, but not the capital, of its province. History The city was founded in 1737 by the Spanish. Prior to the arrival of the Spanish, what is now Güines was part of a region ruled by the Indian chief Habaguanex. One of the earliest mentions of the word Güines is in 1598, when Don Diego de Rivera or Ribera was awarded a land grant for ''Los Güines Corral''. Güines can be considered one of the primary points of Cuba's transformation into a sugar-producing slave society in the wake of the Haitian Revolution. Its demographics radically changed as a result. Charanga (Cuba)
Charanga is a traditional ensemble that plays Cuban dance music. They made Cuban dance music popular in the 1940s and their music consisted of heavily son-influenced material, performed on European instruments such as violin and flute by a Charanga orchestra. (Chomsky 2004, p. 199). The style of music that is most associated with a Charanga is termed 'Danzón', and is an amalgam of both European classical music and African rhythms. Roberto Torres (born 10 February 1938) is a Cuban singer, percussionist, bandleader and producer. Helio Orovio Diaz (4 February 1938 – 6 october 2008 in Havana) was a Cuban scholar and historian of Cuban music. He was born in Santiago de Las Vegas. He was a researcher with the Institute of Folklore and Ethnology at the Cuban Academy of Sciences. He authored several books on Cuban music, including ''El bolero latina'', ''Musica por el caribe'', and the reference work ''Cuban Music from A to Z''.
