East Barnet
East Barnet is an area of north London within the London Borough of Barnet bordered by New Barnet, Cockfosters and Southgate. It is a largely residential suburb whose central area contains shops, public houses, restaurants and services, and the parish church of St Mary the Virgin, East Barnet, St Mary the Virgin. East Barnet is close to the M25 motorway, M25 and the A1 road (Great Britain), A1 and M1 motorway, M1. History From 1894 until 1965 East Barnet formed part of the East Barnet Urban District of Hertfordshire. In 1965, it was List of Hertfordshire boundary changes, transferred from Hertfordshire to Greater London; the area was amalgamated with Barnet Urban District, Barnet and Friern Barnet Urban Districts, Finchley and Hendon Municipal Boroughs to form the London Borough of Barnet. East Barnet Urban District
East Barnet Valley was a local government district from 1874 to 1965 around the town of East Barnet. It was partly in the counties of Hertfordshire and Middlesex until 1889, when the Middlesex part was transferred to Hertfordshire. It was renamed East Barnet in 1935. Barnet Urban District
Barnet was a local government district in south Hertfordshire from 1863 to 1965 around the town of Barnet. Creation Barnet Local Government District was created on 5 October 1863, after the town's ratepayers decided to adopt the Local Government Act 1858, and it was governed by a local board. Under the Public Health Act 1872 local government districts were also designated as urban sanitary districts. The Local Government Act 1894 ( 56 & 57 Vict. c. 73) reconstituted the area as an urban district with effect from 31 December 1894, and the local board was replaced by an elected Barnet Urban District Council. Osidge
Osidge is a district in the London Borough of Barnet, between Brunswick Park and Southgate, London, Southgate, just west of the border with the London Borough of Enfield. It may be loosely defined as the part of postal district N14 that is in Barnet. Osidge has no formal border and is entirely enclosed within the electoral ward of Brunswick Park, East Barnet; however Oak Hill Park (Barnet), Oak Hill Park forms a natural boundary to the north and Pymmes Brook to the west, with the A111 road (Great Britain), A111 to the east and the Piccadilly line to the south and/or east. The two main roads in Osidge are Osidge Lane and Hampden Way, which meet at a junction (now roundabout) called Hampden Square. Around the roundabout are three parades of shops and thOsidge Armspub. Brunswick Park is a neighbourhood, public park and electoral ward in the London Borough of Barnet. It is north of New Southgate and to the south of Oakleigh Park.
