''Earth Abides'' is an American post-apocalyptic science fiction drama television miniseries created by Todd Komarnicki, and starring Alexander Ludwig and Jessica Frances Dukes. It is based on George R. Stewart's novel of the same title. The series premiered on December 1, 2024, via MGM+ in the United States and Stan in Australia. Stan (stylised as Stan.) is an Australian subscription over-the-top streaming service. It was launched on 26 January 2015. Stan originally was founded as StreamCo Media, a 50/50 joint venture between Nine Entertainment and Fairfax Media. In August 2014, each company invested A$50 million in StreamCo. It is a square number, the smallest semiprime and composite number, and is considered unlucky in many East Asian cultures. Evolution of the Hindu-Arabic digit Brahmic numerals represented 1, 2, and 3 with as many lines. 4 was simplified by joining its four lines into a cross that looks like the modern plus sign.
