Subaru EJ Engine
The Subaru EJ engine is a series of four-stroke automotive engines manufactured by Subaru. They were introduced in 1989, intended to succeed the previous Subaru EA engine. The EJ series was the mainstay of Subaru's engine line, with all engines of this series being 16-valve horizontal Flat-four engine, flat-fours, with configurations available for single, or double-overhead camshaft arrangements (Overhead camshaft#Single overhead camshaft, SOHC or Overhead camshaft#Dual overhead camshaft, DOHC). ''eJay'' is a series of musical arrangement software, and video games, primarily for Microsoft Windows. The first edition, ''Dance eJay'', was released in 1997. It supports eight tracks of audio and, as with its successors, permits the arrangement of sound bites by a drag-and-drop interface. Since the original ''Dance eJay'', there have been many releases catering to different music genres and users, including techno and hip-hop, as well as a PlayStation 2 edition called eJay Clubworld. The term was coined during the rise of videotape technology in the 1970s.
