E. N. Rammohan
Edavelath Nalamveetil Rammohan (20 November 1940 – 8 April 2018) was an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1965 batch, who served in many of India’s police and paramilitary organisations. He retired as Director General (DG) of the Border Security Force (BSF), a leading paramilitary force of India, tasked with guarding the country’s borders. Biography Rammohan was born in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, to an educated Malayali family from Mahé, India, Mahe in the Malabar District, Malabar region of Kerala. His parents, N.P. Laxmanan and E.K. Radha, moved to Chennai, Madras (now Chennai) when he was three years old. His early school years were at Church Park Convent, Chennai, and he then moved to Christian College High School, Chennai. He finished school at 14 and went on to study a Bachelors in Science and a Masters in Zoology at Presidency College, Chennai. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the domestic crime investigating agency of India. It operates under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Originally set up to investigate bribery and governmental corruption, in 1965 it received expanded jurisdiction to investigate breaches of central laws enforceable by the Government of India, multi-state organised crime, multi-agency or international cases. Mastermind India
''Mastermind India'' is an Indian television quiz show based on the British quiz show ''Mastermind''. It originally aired on BBC World's ''"Made in India"'' series between 1998 and 2002. Each round saw four contestants taking the black chair one by one, and facing rapid fire questions on subjects of their own choosing in the first half, and on general knowledge in the second half. One of the hallmarks of the Indian show was the staging of the contest at heritage sites across the country. For example, in 1999 the semi-finals were held at the Ferozshah Kotla in Delhi, and the finals were held at the City Palace, Jaipur. 2002 Gujarat Riots
The 2002 Gujarat riots, also known as the 2002 Gujarat violence or the Gujarat pogrom, was a three-day period of inter-communal violence in the western Indian state of Gujarat. The Godhra train burning, burning of a train in Godhra on 27 February 2002, which caused the deaths of 58 Hindu pilgrims and karsevaks returning from Ayodhya, is cited as having instigated the violence. Following the initial riot incidents, there were further outbreaks of violence in Ahmedabad for three months; statewide, there were further outbreaks of Violence against Muslims in India, violence against the minority Muslim population of Gujarat for the next year. The April 2010 Dantewada Maoist attack was an 6 April 2010 ambush by Naxalite-Maoist insurgents from the Communist Party of India (Maoist) near Chintalnar village in Dantewada district, Chhattisgarh, India, leading to the killing of 76 CRPF policemen and 8 Maoists — the deadliest attack by the Maoists on Indian security forces. Central Reserve Police Force
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is a central armed police force in India under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The CRPF assists states and Union Territories in maintaining law and order and internal security. National Security Guard
The National Security Guard (NSG) is a central armed police force in India under the Ministry of Home Affairs. It is the primary counter-terrorism force of the Government of India.
