"Dunk Contest" is a single by American rapper Cash Cobain, released on January 29, 2024, as the lead single from his debut studio album, ''Play Cash Cobain''. It was produced by Cobain himself and Gvrlnd!. An official remix of the song titled "Grippy" with American rapper J. Cole was released on May 24, 2024. Composition The production loops synthesizers with the signature drum pattern of Cash Cobain's music. Lyrically, Cobain croons about the women he wants to have sex with, as he lists them by name, describes their features, and details the things he wants to do each one. During the climax, he mentions a woman named Marni, whom he says he does not want to talk about before changing his mind and rapping about how he wants to spend time with her even though she frustrates his other women. As a vocalist, he has collaborated with several mainstream artists such as Ice Spice, Nav, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Don Toliver, Charlie Wilson, and J. Cole, among others, where he also served as a producer. Life and career Cash Cobain was born in the Bronx, New York on March 31, 1998. He first started making beats at a young age in his grandmother's house. Auto-Tune (or autotune) is an audio processor introduced in 1996 by American company Antares Audio Technologies.
