Dundas is a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Dundas is located 21 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Parramatta, and the electoral division of Bennelong. Dundas is a leafy green suburb, notably due to its centrepiece The Ponds Walk, which follows the Ponds Subiaco Creek. Dundas's postcode is part of the Northern Sydney region. Knud Rasmussen
Knud Johan Victor Rasmussen (; 7 June 1879 – 21 December 1933) was a Greenlandic-Danish polar explorer and anthropologist. He has been called the "father of Eskimology" (now often known as Inuit Studies or Greenlandic and Arctic Studies) and was the first European to cross the Northwest Passage via dog sled. Dundas Castle (Roscoe, New York)
Dundas Castle, also called Craig-e-Clair, is a neo-Gothic house near Roscoe in Sullivan County, New York. It was built between 1910 and 1924 for Ralph Wurts-Dundas. Early history In the late 1880s, New York architect Bradford Gilbert acquired nearly in the Catskill Mountains in what is now Roscoe, New York. On this property, Gilbert constructed his summer retreat, Beaverkill Lodge. Gilbert's new wife, Maria, who was Irish, said "the Catskill scenery reminded her of home." She named the surrounding hamlet Craig-e-Clair which translates as "beautiful mountainside." Wurts-Dundas era In 1903, the Gilberts sold the property to Morris Stembach. Four years later, in 1907, Stembach sold it to Ralph Wurts-Dundas. Port Dundas is an area of Glasgow, Scotland, located to the north of the city centre. It lies to the north of Cowcaddens, and to the west of Sighthill, with Hamiltonhill and Possilpark to the north-west. History The Port Dundas terminus was established at One Hundred Acre Hill between 1786 and 1790 and was named after Sir Lawrence Dundas, one of the major backers of the Forth and Clyde Canal Company. Dundas Aqueduct () is an aqueduct in England which carries the Kennet and Avon Canal over the River Avon (the Somerset / Wiltshire border) and the Wessex Main Line railway. The aqueduct is near Monkton Combe, Somerset, and is about south-east of the city of Bath. It was designed by John Rennie and chief engineer John Thomas between 1797 and 1801, and completed in 1805. James McIlquham was appointed contractor. It is named after Charles Dundas, the first chairman of the Kennet and Avon Canal Company. The aqueduct is long with three arches built of Bath Stone, with Doric pilasters, and balustrades at each end. The central semi-circular arch spans ; the two oval side arches span .
