Duncan MacKay (footballer)
Duncan MacKay (14 July 1937 – 23 December 2019) was a Scottish footballer who played for Celtic, Third Lanark, Melbourne Croatia, Perth Azzurri and the Scotland national team. Born in Glasgow, Mackay turned professional when he joined Celtic from Maryhill Harp, aged 17, in 1955. He developed rapidly, making his club debut within two years and earning the first of an eventual 14 caps for the Scotland national side four years later. Celtic manager Jimmy McGrory's attempts to rejuvenate his side eventually resulted in MacKay's departure from Celtic Park after over 200 first team appearances, the fullback moving to south Glasgow side Third Lanark in November 1964. Thirds were relegated at the end of the 1964–65 season and MacKay was one of several players released. MacKay opted to move to Australia at this juncture, joining Melbourne Croatia of the Victorian State League. Duncan Mackay (musician)
Duncan Mackay (born 26 July 1950) is a British composer, singer, arranger, and keyboard player who has recorded eight solo albums as well as collaborations. He was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. He played with Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel from 1974 to 1977 and 10cc from 1978 to 1981, and also played on Kate Bush's first three albums, ''The Kick Inside'', '' Lionheart'' (both 1978) and '' Never for Ever'' (1980), as well as Camel's 1981 album ''Nude'', and Budgie's 1982 album '' Deliver Us from Evil''. In the early 1980s, he was briefly considered for the keyboard player position in Yes. In 2004, he completed an album with South African singer/composer Greg McEwan-Kocovaos, ''The First Time''. This indie album received its first airplay on Radio Caroline by the veteran UK DJ Martin Turner and was reviewed by the official 10cc fan site. Duncan McKay (TV Presenter)
Duncan McKay is a Scottish television presenter and podcaster. He is a regular contributor on Scottish football magazine and factual television television series A View from the Terrace. Career He joined the cast of the long-running podcast 'The Terrace', which covers the latest goings on in the SPFL. In 2019, an adaptation of the podcast was made into a television show, A View from the Terrace, and launched in the opening week of the new BBC Scotland channel. McKay features in a regular segment on A View from the Terrace called Put A Shift In. Throughout the run of the programme, he travels the length and breadth of the country trying out lots of different jobs at all levels of football. Some of the highlights include dressing up as Roary the Lion at Stark's Park, being a ballboy at Hampden Park, co-commentator and lead commentator for an Airdrieonians F.C. game and taking up the mantle of being assistant manager at Caledonian Braves F.C. for one game only. Mickey MacKay
Duncan McMillan "Mickey" MacKay (May 25, 1894 – May 30, 1940) was a Canadian professional ice hockey centre (ice hockey), centre and Rover (ice hockey), rover who played primarily in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association (PCHL) and Western Canada Hockey League (WCHL) for the Vancouver Millionaires (later Maroons). He moved to the National Hockey League (NHL) after the collapse of professional hockey in the west, and finished his career playing with the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Black Hawks, Pittsburgh Pirates (NHL), Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Bruins. A gifted scorer, MacKay led the PCHA in goals three times, assists twice, and was the league's all-time leading scorer upon its demise. Lester Patrick called him the greatest centre to ever play in the coast league; he was named to the PCHA or WCHL first team all-star on seven occasions, and to the second team three times.
