Dum (2003 Tamil Film)
''Dum'' ( ) is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language romantic action comedy film directed by A. Venkatesh. It is a remake of the 2002 Kannada film '' Appu''. The film stars Silambarasan and Rakshita (in her Tamil debut, reprising her role from original) while Ashish Vidyarthi and S. S. Rajendran play pivotal roles. It was a box office success. Plot Satya is the son of a police constable. He gets into fights and ends up in jail where his father gets him out on bail. While he is returning home from a party drunk, a group of college students beat him up. That is when Suchitra comes and takes him to the hospital and donates blood. She is the daughter of a police commissioner. Later, Satya falls in love with Suchitra. That leads to several problems which are faced bravely by Satya in the later part of the film. Kabilan (born 27 December) is an Indian lyricist, poet and actor who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. Born in the Indian coastal city of Pondicherry, he started writing lyrics for films and television in the early 2000s and gradually moved to acting as well. Chelladurai (1941 - 7 February 2015) was an Indian comedian who worked in Tamil-language films. He acted in over 350 films. Career Chelladurai made his film debut with '' Thooral Ninnu Pochchu'' (1982). He is known for his comic sequences with actor Vadivelu. He became famous for his role in '' Shree'' (2002) as the owner of a wine shop named Prabha. In the scene, a thief named Marimuthu ( Vadivelu) breaks into the shop and calls the owner and asks when the shop will open. The owner tells him that the store is closed. Vadivelu drinks alcohol and repeatedly disturbs the shop owner during the night. Death Chelladurai was admitted to Keezhpakkam Government Hospital in Chennai due to kidney issues on 8 February after having problems for several months. Kottachi is an Indian actor who works in Tamil-language films. He made his directorial debut with ''Kazhu Maram'' (2024).
