Middle Dutch is a collective name for a number of closely related West Germanic dialects whose ancestor was Old Dutch. It was spoken and written between 1150 and 1500. Until the advent of Modern Dutch after 1500 or , there was no overarching standard language, but all dialects were mutually intelligible. During that period, a rich Medieval Dutch literature developed, which had not yet existed during Old Dutch. A dune is a landform composed of wind- or water-driven sand. It typically takes the form of a mound, ridge, or hill. An area with dunes is called a dune system or a dune complex. A large dune complex is called a dune field, while broad, flat regions covered with wind-swept sand or dunes, with little or no vegetation, are called '' ergs'' or ''sand seas''. Adrianus Marinus Kyvon (; 20 February 1947), known by his stage name André van Duin, is a Dutch comedian, singer-songwriter and television presenter. Van Duin is one of the Netherlands' best known entertainers, with a career spanning almost six decades. Early life Van Duin was born as Adrianus Kloot, but with "Kloot" being a Dutch slur (pejorative), slur, he took the name "André van Duin" instead, while his family officially changed their surname to "Kyvon". Julia Duin is an American journalist and author who is Newsweek's religion correspondent. She has written seven books and was the religion editor for ''The Washington Times'' for 14 years. She has received three Wilbur Awards, most recently for a 2017 article in the Washington Post Magazine about Paula White, spiritual adviser to then-president Donald Trump. Biography Duin was born in Baltimore and moved to Hawaii with her family at the age of six weeks. She attended high school in Seattle, where she began writing magazine articles.
