Duncan Druce
Robert Duncan Druce (23 May 193913 October 2015) was an English composer, string player and musicologist, noted for his breadth of musical interests ranging from contemporary music to baroque and early music, as well as music of India. Education and academic life Druce was born in Cheshire in 1939, the son of the former Katy Chesters and Robert Druce, a bacteriologist. In 1957, he entered King's College, Cambridge, which later awarded him a double first in music. Subsequently, he completed a Masters at the University of Leeds and, in 1984 embarked upon a second master's degree, at the University of York, choosing this time the music of southern India as the topic of his thesis. In 1991, Druce stood down from his long-standing post as senior lecturer at Leeds University's Bretton Hall Campus, to continue to work as a performer and composer. Eliot Druce
Eliot Albert Cross Druce (20 June 1876 – 24 October 1934) was an English amateur cricketer who played first-class cricket between 1897 and 1913. Frank Druce
Norman Frank Druce, known as Frank Druce (1 January 1875 – 27 October 1954) was an English cricketer who played in five Test matches from 1897 to 1898. He is one of the very few Test cricketers to have made his claims for inclusion purely upon his performance for an Oxbridge university. He had played a few times for Surrey in 1895 and 1897, when the team was a powerful force in county cricket, but his performance was so modest that he had difficulty justifying his place. Life Frank Druce was the son of Walter William Druce of Denmark Hill, London. He began his career in cricket with the Marlborough College eleven between 1891 and 1893, captaining them in his last season before moving to Trinity College, Cambridge in 1893. George Claridge Druce
George Claridge Druce (23 May 1850 – 29 February 1932) was an English botanist and a Mayor of Oxford. Personal life and education G. Claridge Druce was born at Potterspury on Watling Street in Northamptonshire. He was the illegitimate son of Jane Druce, born 1815 in Buckinghamshire. He went to school in the village of Yardley Gobion. At 16, he was apprenticed to P. Jeyes & Co., a pharmaceutical firm in Northampton. In 1872, he passed exams to become a pharmacist. In 1909, Druce moved to 9 Crick Road. He named the house "Yardley Lodge", after the village in which he spent his youth. He died at his home aged 81 and was buried in Holywell Cemetery. Career as a pharmacist In June 1879, Druce moved to Oxford and set up his own chemist's shop, Druce & Co., at 118 High Street, which continued until his death. Helen Margaret Druce née Hodgson (July 21, 1921–2010) was a New Zealand teacher, tramper, botanist and botanical collector. Life Druce was educated at Napier Girls' High School and Iona Presbyterian School for Girls. She earned a master's degree in geography from the Canterbury University College. She married New Zealand botanist Anthony Peter Druce in December 1947. She was a member of the Wellington Botanical Society, Canterbury University Tramping Club and Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand. Herbert Druce, Linnean Society, FLS (14 July 1846 in London – 11 April 1913 in London) was an English entomologist. His collections were acquired by Frederick DuCane Godman (1834–1919), Osbert Salvin (1835–1898), and James John Joicey (1870–1932) before being bequeathed to the Natural History Museum, London, Natural History Museum in London. Hamilton Herbert Druce
Hamilton Herbert Charles James Druce (26 October 1866 – 21 June 1922) was an English entomologist who specialised in Lycaenidae and to a lesser extent Hesperiidae. He is not to be confused with his father, the English entomologist Herbert Druce (1846–1913) who also worked on Lepidoptera. H. H. Druce was a Fellow of the Zoological Society of London and of the Entomological Society of London. The H. H. John Druce
John W. Druce (born February 23, 1966) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Washington Capitals, Winnipeg Jets, Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers Playing career As a youth, he played in the 1979 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Peterborough. In Druce's first year of Junior eligibility, he played for the Peterborough Petes B squad. He joined the Petes the next season and scored 12 goals in 54 games. Druce was on a checking line with future Capital teammate Rob Murray. John Joseph "Jack" Geoghan ( ; June4, 1935August23, 2003) was an American serial child rapist and Catholic Church, Catholic Priesthood in the Catholic Church, priest assigned to parishes in the Archdiocese of Boston in Massachusetts. Olga Druce was an American radio and television producer, public speaker, and actress. Early years Born Olga Droshnicop, Druce was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Droshnicop, and she had a sister. Her father was a businessman in imports and exports.
