Drino Summaria
The Drino or Drinos (, ) is a river in southern Albania and northwestern Greece, and a tributary of the Vjosë. Its source is in the northwestern part of the Ioannina (regional unit), Ioannina regional unit, near the village Delvinaki. The 84.6 km (52.6 mi) long Drino flows initially southwest, then northwest and crosses the Albanian border near Ktismata. It continues northwest through Gjirokastër and flows into the Vjosë near Tepelenë. Name The Albanian language, Albanian name of the river is ''Drino'' and the Greek language, Greek name is Δρίνος, ''Drinos''. Ioannina () is one of the regional units of Greece, located in the northwestern part of the country. It is part of the region of Epirus (region), Epirus. Its capital is the city of Ioannina. It is the largest regional unit in Epirus, and one of the largest regional units of Greece, with a population of 160,773 people, according to the 2021 census.
