Dreyers Fond
Dreyers Fond (English language, English: The Dreyer Foundation) is a Copenhagen-based Denmark, Danish foundation founded by husband-and wife Thorvald and Margot Dreyer in 1976. Thorvald Dreyer was an architect. Margot Dreyer was a lawyer. The foundation supports projects and activities aimed at promoting the development of the architects’ and lawyers’ professions and their interaction with society. The annual Dreyer Honorary Award honors excellence in architecture as well as law. The foundation is also active in the market for real estate investments. Real estate portfolio Løvenborg Dreyers Fond is based in the Savoy Hotel, Copenhagen, Løvenborg building on Vesterbrogade in Copenhagen. The building is from 1906 and was designed by Anton Rosen. Bjarke Ingels
Bjarke Bundgaard Ingels (; born 2 October 1974) is a Danish architect, founder and creative partner of Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). In Denmark, Ingels became well known after designing two housing complexes in Ørestad: VM Houses and Mountain Dwellings. In 2006 he founded Bjarke Ingels Group, which grew to a staff of 400 by 2015, with noted projects including the 8 House housing complex, VIA 57 West in Manhattan, the Google North Bayshore headquarters (co-designed with Thomas Heatherwick), the Superkilen park, and the Amager Bakke, Amager Resource Center (ARC) waste-to-energy plant – the latter which incorporates both a ski slope and climbing wall on the building exterior. Marianne Ingvartsen
Marianne () has been the national personification of the French Republic since the French Revolution, as a personification of liberty, equality, fraternity and reason, as well as a portrayal of the Goddess of Liberty. Knud Holscher
Knud Helmuth Holscher (born 6 May 1930 in Rødby, Denmark) is a Danish architect and industrial designer. For many years he was a partner in KHR Architects with Svend Axelsson and designed many of their works together. Biography Holscher studied with Erik Christian Sørensen and professor Arne Jacobsen at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, graduating in 1957. He joined the office of Arne Jacobsen in 1960 and moved to England to oversee construction of Jacobsen's St Catherine's College, Oxford in 1962. Holscher was awarded the British Design Award in 1965 and 1966 for work done in collaboration with Alan Tye before accepting a partnership in established Danish architectural office Krohn and Hartvig Rasmussen, later renamed KHRAS. Lene Tranberg
Lene Tranberg (born 29 November 1956) is a Danish architect, head architect and a founding partner of Lundgaard & Tranberg. History Lene Tranberg was born in Copenhagen in 1956. In 1977, she was admitted to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture where she studied under Erik Christian Sørensen. Stig Lennart Andersson (born 30 March 1957) usually referred to as Stig L. Andersson, is a Denmark, Danish landscape architect, founder and Creative Director of Copenhagen-based SLA which has developed into an interdisciplinary organisation working with landscape, urban spaces and urban planning. Entasis (company)
Entasis is a Danish architecture firm based in Copenhagen. It takens its name from the Greek word for tension. History Entasis was founded by Christian and Signe Cold in 1996. Their first building, a new main entrance for Copenhagen Zoo, was awarded the AIA Prize 'Best Building in Europe 1998'. In 2007 the firm won the open international competition for the redevelopment of the former Carlsberg brewery site in Copenhagen, with a proposal which, in reaction to Modernist planning, relied on dense, Medieval town centres for inspiration. An emphasis on physical density and the human scale are characteristic of their work. The same trend is seen in their entry for the Søtorvet competition in Silkeborg which they won in 2010. Jørn Utzon
Jørn Oberg Utzon (; 9 April 191829 November 2008) was a Danish architect. In 1957, he won an international design competition for his design of the Sydney Opera House in Australia. Utzon's revised design, which he completed in 1961, was the basis for the landmark, although it was not completed until 1973. When the Sydney Opera House was declared a World Heritage Site on 28 June 2007, Utzon became only the second person to have received such recognition for one of his works during his lifetime, after Oscar Niemeyer. Other noteworthy works include Bagsværd Church near Copenhagen and the National Assembly Building in Kuwait. He also made important contributions to housing design, especially with his Kingo Houses near Helsingør.
