Dream
A dream is a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensation (psychology), sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. Humans spend about two hours dreaming per night, and each dream lasts around 5–20 minutes, although the dreamer may perceive the dream as being much longer. The content and function of dreams have been topics of scientific, philosophical and religious interest throughout recorded history. Dream interpretation, practiced by the Babylonians in the third millennium BCE and even earlier by the ancient Sumerians, figures prominently in religious texts in several traditions, and has played a lead role in psychotherapy. ''Dreamin is the debut EP from Australian surf rock duo Hockey Dad. The EP was released in June 2014 by Farmer & The Owl. Background Hockey Dad was formed in 2013 by friends Zach Stephenson and William Fleming. Their first live performance was at Rad Bar, a small music venue in Wollongong, where the two worked part-time. ''Dreamin was the first record to be released under label Farmer & The Owl, a co-operation between Wollongong-based music operator Yours & Owls and Music Farmers, a record store from the region. "Dreaming" is a song by English electronic band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark initially released in January 1988 as a single from their compilation album '' The Best of OMD''. It was a hit in the United States, reaching number 16 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, number 17 on the ''Cash Box'' Top 100 and number six on the Dance chart. The track had limited success in the band's home country where it peaked at number 50 on the UK Singles Chart, while it entered the Top 40 in several other countries including Australia, New Zealand and West Germany. "The Dreaming" is the title song from Kate Bush's fourth studio album '' The Dreaming'' and was released as a single on 26 July 1982. "The Dreaming" peaked at No. 48 and spent 3 weeks in the UK Singles Chart. The song is about the destruction of Aboriginal Australians' traditional lands by white Australians in their quest for weapons-grade uranium. Bird impersonator Percy Edwards provided sheep noises. The title is based on The Dreaming, a concept in Aboriginal mythology. The track was the first of three singles released and was the biggest hit from the album, becoming a top-ten hit in numerous countries including the UK and the US where it became his third and last top ten hit.
