Down-low (sexual Slang)
Down-low, sometimes shortened to DL, is an African-American slang term generally used within the African-American community that typically refers to a sexual subculture of Men who usually identify as heterosexual but actively seek sexual encounters and relations with other men, practice gay cruising, and frequently don a specific hip-hop attire during these activities. They generally avoid disclosing their same-sex sexual activities, even if they have female sexual partner(s), they are married to a woman, or they are single. The term is also used to refer to a related sexual identity. ''Down-low'' has been viewed as "a type of impression management that some of the informants use to present themselves in a manner that is consistent with perceived norms about masculine attribute, attitudes, and behavior". Down Low (rap Group)
Down Low is a rap group formed in Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1995 fronted by Americans Joe Thompson and Darren Tucker. Mike Dalien joined the group in 1996 since Joe and Darren had decided to go separate ways. The group is known for hits like " Johnny B." Down Low are considered as one of the first groups to bring hip-hop music in a European style in the middle of the 1990s together with artists such as C-Block, Nana and A.K. S.W.I.F.T. History The group was formed in December 1995 in the K-Town studios in Kaiserslautern. The members were American rapper Joe Thompson, who served in the U.S. Army during Operation Desert Storm and had a friendship with Rod. D from Fun Factory, as well as singer and fellow American Darren Tucker. ''Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde'' is the debut album by the American hip hop collective the Pharcyde. It was released on November 24, 1992, through Delicious Vinyl. The album was produced by former group member J-Swift, and features a guest appearance by Los Angeles rapper Bucwheed (known then as "Buckwheat", from the Wascals). ''Down Low'' is Israeli groove metal band Betzefer's first full-length studio album and major label debut on Roadrunner Records Roadrunner Records is a Dutch–American record label focused on Heavy metal music, heavy metal and hard rock music. Founded in the Netherlands in 1980, it is now a division of Warner Music Group and is based in New York City. Formerly seen as ..., as well as their only album on that label. It was released on 19 May 2005 in Israel and 6 June 2005 worldwide. It is the band's first release with current bassist Rotem Inbar. "Down Low", "Early Grave" and "Running Against" were released as singles and videos were made for those songs. The Down Low
"The Down Low" is the eleventh episode of the sixth season of ''House''. It aired on Fox on January 11, 2010. Plot When drug dealer Mickey (Ethan Embry) mysteriously collapses while negotiating a sale, his partner-in-crime, Eddie (Nick Chinlund), accompanies him to Princeton Plainsboro for treatment. But with a major deal pending, Mickey is not forthcoming with the necessary personal information the team needs to treat him. As Mickey's condition worsens, the team resorts to old-fashioned detective work to solve the case. Eddie takes Thirteen to a warehouse to inspect the drugs for clues; they are nearly caught, but Thirteen pretends to be a prostitute and they get away with it. Thirteen, Chase, and Taub attempt to play a practical joke on Foreman. Thirteen leaves a phony paystub showing she earns more than Foreman on the floor where he finds it.
