Douglas McDonald (born 8 October 1965) is a former FIFA International soccer referee and Scottish Category 1 referee. McDonald is a transport planner by profession, and currently is Director of Transport for Stantec in Scotland. He is still also involved in football, working as a Referee Development Advisor in Youth and Junior football. Douglas Vipond (born 15 October 1966) is a Scottish broadcaster and drummer. Early life Vipond was brought up in Inchinnan and attended Park Mains High School in Erskine, choosing to go there because of the reputation of the music department. After school he enrolled at Glasgow's Royal Scottish Academy of Music to study orchestral percussion. Dougie Payne
Douglas Payne (born 14 November 1972) is the bassist and backing vocalist of the Scottish band Travis. Career Payne was born in the south side of Glasgow, and was educated at Woodfarm High School. He was also a member of the local 28th Glasgow (Giffnock) Scout Group in his youth. He went on to become a student at the Glasgow School of Art, where he met the band's singer, Fran Healy. They teamed up to form Glass Onion (named after a Beatles' song), later renaming themselves Travis. Originally Payne was not part of Glass Onion, which featured two other members, but when they left he was asked to play for the band. At the time of being asked, Payne had never touched a bass guitar in his life; for weeks he refused to do it, until finally he agreed.
