''Doug'' is an American animated sitcom created by Jim Jinkins and produced by Jumbo Pictures. It originally aired on Nickelodeon from August 11, 1991, to January 2, 1994, and on ABC from September 7, 1996, to June 26, 1999. The show focuses on the early adolescent life and zany hijinks of its title character, Douglas "Doug" Funnie, who experiences common predicaments while attending school in his new hometown of Bluffington. Doug narrates each story in his journal, and the show incorporates many imagination sequences. The series addresses numerous topics, including trying to fit in, platonic and romantic relationships, self-esteem, bullying, and rumors. ''Doug'' is the second album by the American band the Coolies, released in 1988. It is a concept album and rock opera about a skinhead punk kid, Doug, who pilfers recipes from a drag queen, publishes them as his own, and becomes famous and wealthy while worrying about his comeuppance. The band supported the album with a North American tour. ''Doug'' was adapted as a stage musical in 1997. Production The album was produced by Brendan O'Brien, his first production job. It was recorded in less than a week for around $2,000. The Coolies were unconcerned about their reputation as a joke band, preferring to keep their music humorous, unserious, and entertaining. Doug, also known as Dug, is a tuber in the Cucurbitaceae family that was grown by Colin and Donna Craig-Brown near Hamilton in New Zealand. Weighing roughly 7.9 kg, it was thought to be the largest potato on record for a period after its discovery, topping the 5 kg record holder at the time. However, genetic testing revealed that Doug is not, in fact, a potato. Background On 30 August 2021, while the Craig-Browns were weeding their garden near Hamilton, Colin's hoe struck what he initially thought was a fungal growth or a sweet potato beneath the surface; he discarded these ideas after realising the object's size. is a maze arcade video game released by Namco in 1982. It was distributed in North America by Atari, Inc. The player digs underground tunnels to attack enemies in each level, by either inflating them to bursting or crushing them underneath rocks.
