Jamie Farr
Jamie Farr (born Jameel Joseph Farah; July 1, 1934) is an American comedian and actor. He is best known for playing Corporal Maxwell Klinger, a soldier who tried getting discharged from the army by cross-dressing, on the CBS sitcom '' M*A*S*H''. After ''M*A*S*H'', Farr reprised the role of Klinger for '' AfterMASH'' and appeared both in small roles on popular shows such as ''The Love Boat'' and as a host or panelist on game shows including '' Battle of the Network Stars''. ''Scrabble'' is an American television game show based upon the board game ''Scrabble''. Contestants competed in a series of rounds to fill in words within a crossword puzzle for cash. Muriel Green of Exposure Unlimited developed the idea for a television game show based upon the board game concept. During 1983, Green convinced Selchow and Righter, who at that time owned the Scrabble board game, to license Exposure Unlimited to produce the game show. Exposure Unlimited co-produced the show with Hasbro Studios, Reg Grundy Productions, and licensed the show to NBC. ''The Dating Game'' is an American television game show that first aired on December 20, 1965, and was the first of many shows created and packaged by Chuck Barris from the 1960s through the 1980s. ABC dropped the show on July 6, 1973, but it continued in syndication for another year (1973–1974) as ''The New Dating Game''. The program was revived four additional times afterward, with the first from 1978 to 1980 as ''The All-New Dating Game'', the second from 1986 to 1989, and the third from 1996 to 1999 all airing in syndication, while the fourth revival aired a single season on ABC in 2021.
