Dossibai Patell
Dossibai Rustomji Cowasji Patell Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, MBE, Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom, MRCP (16 October 1881 – 4 February 1960), later known as Dossibai Jehangir Ratenshaw Dadabhoy, was an Indian obstetrician and gynaecologist, who in 1910 became the first woman to become a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS). After completing initial medical training in India, she spent six years in London studying for the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, MRCS (Eng), LRCP, Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom, MRCP, MB BS and finally Doctor of Medicine, MD. Upon return to India, she established a career in obstetrics and gynaecology, advocated maternal and child welfare centres and petitioned for reducing infant mortality. Hector MacLennan
Sir Hector Ross MacLennan FRCP FRCPGlas FRCOG (1 November 1905 – 6 January 1978) was a Scottish gynaecologist, knighted in the 1965 Birthday Honours. Linda Cardozo
Linda Dolores Cardozo OBE (15 September 1950 – 21 September 2023) was a British gynaecologist and professor of urogynaecology at King's College Hospital, London. Cardozo received a lifetime achievement award from the International Urogynaecological Association, was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire 2014 for services to urogynaecology and women's health. In 2016 she received a Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Athens. Paul Devroey
Paul Devroey is a prominent Belgian researcher and professor specialized in human fertility. He worked more than 30 years in the university hospital of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where he directed the Center for Reproductive Medicine. Together with André Van Steirteghem and other colleagues from the Center he developed the Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) technique, in which a single sperm is injected into an egg-cell.
