Dorohozhychi (Kyiv Metro)
Dorohozhychi (, ) is a Kyiv Metro station on the Syretsko-Pecherska Line. Opened on 30 March 2000, the station represents the second extension of the Syretsky radius to the northwest. It is located nearby the territory of Babyn Yar. (1 February 2020) The station, designed by architects V. Gnevyshev, N.Aloshkin and T.Tselikovska presents itself as a deep-level pylon trivault. Shevchenkivskyi District, Kyiv
The Shevchenkivskyi District is an urban district of the city of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It was originally established on 4 April 1937, although in 2001 its area was increased following an annexation of the former Radianskyi and Starokyivskyi districts. The district is historically significant, as it was here on the Old Kyiv mount where the apostle Saint Andrew erected the cross, also the famous Golden Gate of Kyiv, the main entrance to the medieval city of Kyiv is located in the district, as are the three major churches of the city: Saint Sophia, Saint Michael and Saint Andrew. The Kyiv Metro (, ) is a rapid transit system in Kyiv, Ukraine, owned by the Kyiv City Council and operated by the city-owned company Kyivskyi Metropoliten''.'' Babyn Yar
Babi Yar () or Babyn Yar () is a ravine in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and a site of massacres carried out by Nazi Germany's forces during its campaign against the Soviet Union in World War II. The first and best documented of the massacres took place on 29–30 September 1941, in which some 33,771 Jews were murdered. Other victims of massacres at the site included Soviet prisoners of war, communists and Romani people. It is estimated that a total of between 100,000 and 150,000 people were murdered at Babi Yar during the German occupation. Ukrainian Baroque (), also known as Cossack Baroque () or Mazepa Baroque, is an style (visual arts), artistic style that was widespread in Ukraine in the 17th and 18th centuries. Yuri Ilyenko
Yuri Herasymovych Ilyenko (, 18 July 1936 – 15 June 2010) was a Ukrainian film director, screenwriter, cinematographer and politician. He directed twelve films between 1965 and 2002. His 1970 film '' The White Bird Marked with Black'' was entered into the 7th Moscow International Film Festival where it won the Golden Prize. Ilyenko was one of Ukraine's most influential filmmakers. His films represented Ukraine and what was happening to it. His films were banned in the USSR for their suspected anti-Soviet symbolism. Only in the recent years have his films been re-released and open to the public. Olena Ivanivna Teliha (; July 21, 1906 – February 21, 1942) was a Ukrainian poet and activist of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) of Ukrainian and Belarusian ethnicity. Biography Olena Chovgeniva was born in the village of , near Moscow in Russia where her parents spent summer vacations. There are several villages by this name in that area, and it is unknown exactly which one of them is Olena Teliha's birthplace. Her father was a civil engineer while her mother came from a family of Russian Orthodox priests. In 1918, she moved to Kyiv with her family, when her father became a minister in the new UNR government. There they lived through the years of Ukrainian War of Independence. When the Bolsheviks took over, her father moved to Czechoslovakia, and the rest of the family followed him in 1923. Lukianivska (Kyiv Metro)
Lukianivska (, ) is a station on Kyiv Metro's Syretsko–Pecherska line. The station was opened on 30 December 1996, as part of the first stage extension of the Syretsky radius. The Syretsky radius was planned in the early 1980s when construction of the whole line began. Open opening of the line in 1989, the tunnel boring to the northwest continued, but in line of economic problems during the early 1990s, construction pace was very slow-paced. Also, the original first stage of the radius was supposed to open with two stations, this and Lvivska Brama. However, due to geological projects with Lvivska Brama, works on the station were stopped in the early 1990s. Lukianivska was opened in 1996 as the first deep level station following the independence of Ukraine with a new original design (stations opened along the Pechersky radius in 1991-1994 were all from architecture which dates to Soviet-time designs, when they were starting to be built).
