''Dora the Explorer'' is an American media franchise centered on an eponymous animated interactive fourth wall children's television series created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh Valdes, and Eric Weiner, and produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio. The series originally ran on Nickelodeon from August 14, 2000, to June 5, 2014, with the final six unaired episodes later airing from July 7 to August 9, 2019. Chris Gifford (writer)
Chris Gifford (born May 3, 1959) is an American writer and executive producer at Nickelodeon. He co-created the Peabody Award-winning children's series ''Dora the Explorer (TV series), Dora the Explorer'' and its spin-offs ''Go, Diego, Go!'', and ''Dora and Friends: Into the City!'', and was the voice of some of the show's characters, including Big Red Chicken, the Grumpy Old Troll, and the Pirate Captain Pig. The adventure film is a broad genre of film. Some early genre studies found it no different than the Western film or argued that adventure could encompass all Hollywood genres. Commonality was found among historians Brian Taves and Ian Cameron in that the genre required a setting that was both remote in time and space to the film audience and that it contained a positive hero who tries to make right in their world.
