''Dopamine'' is the fifth studio album by the American rapper and singer Lil Tecca. It was released on June 13, 2025, through Galactic and Republic Records. The album contains a sole guest appearance from Ken Carson. It serves as the follow up to his previous album, '' Plan A'' (2024). The album was preceded by the release of the singles "Dark Thoughts" and "Owa Owa", with " Half the Plot" receiving a music video upon its release. Release and promotion The lead single from the album, "Dark Thoughts", was released on March 14, 2025. Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born August 26, 2002), known professionally as Lil Tecca, is an American rapper and singer-songwriter. Lil Tecca rose to mainstream prominence with the release of the 2019 single "Ransom", which peaked at number four on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. The song preceded the release of his debut mixtape ''We Love You Tecca'' (2019), which peaked at number four on the ''Billboard'' 200 and contained the follow-up singles " Love Me" and " Did It Again". The Official Aotearoa Music Charts, formerly the Official New Zealand Music Chart (), is the weekly New Zealand top 40 singles and albums charts, issued weekly by Recorded Music NZ (formerly Recording Industry Association of New Zealand). The Buggles
The Buggles are an English New wave music, new wave band formed in London in 1977 by singer and bassist Trevor Horn and keyboardist Geoff Downes. They are best known for their 1979 debut single "Video Killed the Radio Star", which topped the UK singles chart and reached number one in 15 other countries and was chosen as the song to launch MTV in 1981. The duo released their first album, ''The Age of Plastic'', in January 1980. On 7 September 1979, "Video Killed the Radio Star" was released, being the lead single of the album. "Video Killed the Radio Star" is a song written by Trevor Horn, Geoff Downes and Bruce Woolley in 1979. It was recorded concurrently by Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club (with Thomas Dolby on keyboards) for their album '' English Garden'' and by British new wave/synth-pop group the Buggles, which consisted of Horn and Downes (and initially Woolley). Bruce Woolley
Bruce Martin Woolley (born 11 November 1953) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He wrote songs with artists such as the Buggles and Grace Jones, including " Video Killed the Radio Star" and " Slave to the Rhythm", and co-founded the Radio Science Orchestra. Early life Woolley was born in Loughborough, Leicestershire, on 11 November 1953 and educated at Loughborough Grammar School, where he learned electric guitar and where he met his future wife Tessa. He lived in Shepshed, playing the UK pub and club circuit extensively for some years, before landing his first professional engagement in 1974, with Ivor Kenney's Dance Band at Leicester Palais. Trevor Horn
Trevor Charles Horn (born 15 July 1949) is an English record producer and musician. His influence on pop and electronic music in the 1980s was such that he has been called "the man who invented the eighties". Horn took up the bass guitar at an early age and taught himself to sight-read music. In the 1970s, he worked as a session musician, built his own studio, and wrote and produced singles for various artists. Horn gained fame in 1979 as a member of the Buggles, who achieved a hit single with " Video Killed the Radio Star". He was invited to join the progressive rock band Yes, becoming their lead singer. Geoff Downes
Geoffrey Downes (born 25 August 1952) is an English keyboardist who gained fame as a member of the new wave group the Buggles with Trevor Horn, the progressive rock band Yes, and the supergroup Asia. Born in Stockport, Downes moved to London to pursue a music career. In 1977, he formed the Buggles with Horn and enjoyed success with their first album '' The Age of Plastic'' (1980) which included the worldwide hit single " Video Killed the Radio Star". In May 1980, Downes joined Yes with Horn and recorded ''Drama'' (1980).
