Donald Wilson (writer And Producer)
Donald Boyd Wilson (11 September 1910 – 6 March 2002) was a Scottish television writer and producer who worked for the BBC. His work included co-creating the science fiction series '' Doctor Who'' in 1963, also later claiming to have named the series, and adapting and producing ''The Forsyte Saga'' in 1967. Early life and career Wilson attended the Glasgow School of Art, following which his first jobs were as a newspaper cartoonist and sketch writer. His initial career was in the film industry, including working for MGM at Elstree Studios, where he was Assistant Director of such films as '' Jericho'' (1937) and '' Goodbye, Mr. Chips'' (1939). During the Second World War he served with the Cameronians and the 43rd Wessex Division before afterwards returning to the film industry, and then in 1955 was recruited to BBC Television by the then Head of Drama, Michael Barry. Dunblane
Dunblane (, gd, Dùn Bhlàthain) is a small town in the council area of Stirling in central Scotland, and inside the historic boundaries of the county of Perthshire. It is a commuter town, with many residents making use of good transport links to much of the Central Belt, including Glasgow and Edinburgh. Dunblane is built on the banks of the Allan Water (or River Allan), a tributary of the River Forth. Dunblane Cathedral is its most prominent landmark. Dunblane had a population of 8,114 at the 2001 census, which grew to 8,811 at the 2011 census; both of these figures were computed according to the 2010 definition of the locality. In mid-2016 it was estimated that the population had grown to 9,410. Verity Lambert
Verity Ann Lambert (27 November 1935 – 22 November 2007) was an English television and film producer. Lambert began working in television in the 1950s. She began her career as a producer at the BBC by becoming the founding producer of the science-fiction series '' Doctor Who'' from 1963 until 1965. She left the BBC in 1969 and worked for other television companies, notably having a long association with Thames Television and its Euston Films offshoot in the 1970s and 1980s. Her many credits as producer include '' Adam Adamant Lives!'', '' The Naked Civil Servant'', '' Rock Follies'', '' Minder'', ''Widows'', '' G.B.H.'', ''Jonathan Creek'', '' Love Soup'' and '' Eldorado''. Orson Welles Great Mysteries
''Orson Welles Great Mysteries'' is a British television series originally transmitted between 1973 and 1974, produced by Anglia Television for the ITV network. The series is an anthology of mystery stories. Each episode is introduced by Orson Welles, the only regular actor in the series, whose appearances were confined to the introductory and closing sequences. In the opening titles, Welles appears shown in silhouette walking through a hallway towards the camera, smoking a cigar and outfitted in a broad-brimmed hat and a huge cloak. When he actually appears on-screen to introduce the episodes, his face is all that is shown, in extreme close-up and very low lighting. Episodes were directed by Alan Gibson, Peter Sykes, Peter Sasdy, Philip Saville, James Ferman and Alan Cooke.
