Donald McPherson (figure Skater)
John Donald McPherson (February 20, 1945 – November 24, 2001) was a Canadian figure skater. He is the 1963 World Champion and the 1963 Canadian national champion. He represented Canada at the 1960 Winter Olympics, where he placed 10th at the age of 15. He turned 15 years old during the Olympic figure skating competition. Donald McPherson started to skate with the age of 4. He represented the Stratford Figure Skating Club in Ontario, and was coached by Dennis Silverthorne. He won the 1963 World Figure Skating Championships at the age of 18, becoming the youngest men's World Champion. McPherson won his World title skating on an unusual pair of skates with small serrations in the blades. Following that win, he turned professional, starring in Dick Button's Ice-Travanganza at the 1964 New York World's Fair. He also toured for 11 years for Holiday on Ice, and won the 1965 World Professional Figure Skating Championships. He was inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame ...

Don McPherson
Donald G. McPherson (born April 2, 1965) is an American former professional football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). He spent seven seasons in the NFL and CFL with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Houston Oilers, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and the Ottawa Rough Riders. McPherson played college football for the Syracuse Orange, winning the Maxwell Award and the Davey O'Brien Award. He was selected in the sixth round by the Eagles in the 1988 NFL draft. His accomplishments during his tenure with Syracuse propelled him to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008. After football McPherson joined the staff of Northeastern University's Center for the Study of Sport in Society, before becoming the first executive director of the Sports Leadership Institute at Adelphi University. Donald MacPherson was a Canadian broadcast executive who served as head of First Choice from 1981 to 1984 and CBC Sports from 1984 to 1988. Early career MacPherson joined CBC Television in 1952. He was the producer of '' Mr. Fixit'' from 1955 to 1962, '' In View'' from 1962 to 1963, and ''The Observer'' from 1964 to 1966. He left the CBC to become an executive producer at the CTV Television Network and in 1969 he was promoted to Director of News, Features and Information Programming. Donald Mighton McPherson (November 26, 1918 – September 14, 1973) was a Canadian professional sports executive, businessman, farmer and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Regina South West from 1967 to 1971 and Regina Lakeview from 1971 to 1973 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Liberal. Early life He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and was educated there, going on to study agriculture at the University of Manitoba. The Main Ingredient was an American soul and R&B group which had a run of hits in the 1970s, including their 1972 million-selling song " Everybody Plays the Fool". Early history The group was formed in Harlem, New York City in 1964 as a trio called the Poets, composed of lead singer Donald McPherson (July 9, 1941 – July 3, 1971), Luther Simmons Jr. (September 9, 1942 – May 9, 2016), and Panama-born Tony Silvester (October 7, 1941 – November 26, 2006). They made their first recordings for Leiber & Stoller's Red Bird label, but soon changed their name to the Insiders and signed with RCA Records. In 1968, after a couple of singles, they changed their name once again, this time permanently, to The Main Ingredient. The name came from a Coca-Cola bottle. Donald McPherson (born March 11, 1969) is an American fashion photographer who was born in Miami, Florida. Moving to Europe in 1992 to pursue his career, McPherson met the fashion editor Isabella Blow who became a close friend and an invaluable source of inspiration. Sharing an apartment in Paris, they developed a close working relationship. McPherson photographed the first fashion story for ''Tatler'' with Blow, working as fashion director, showcasing the retrospect of Manolo Blahnik. Donald MacPherson (1922 - 2012) was a Scottish bagpipe player, and one of the most successful competitive solo pipers of all time. Personal life MacPherson was born into a large family on 5 September 1922 in Glasgow. He received all of his tuition from his father Iain, who was an army piper during the First World War, and had been taught by John MacDougall Gillies. Iain injured his hand when Donald was aged 5 and rarely played his pipes after that, but gave Donald instruction in all aspects of bagpipe playing. Donald joined the Boys' Brigade pipe band at the age of 12. He entered his first solo competition at the age of 15, at the Cowal Highland Gathering, where he won both the Under 15 March, Strathspey and Reel and the Under 18 Piobaireachd.
