The Division of Solomon is an Divisions of the Australian House of Representatives, Australian Electoral Division in the Northern Territory. It is largely coextensive with the Darwin, Northern Territory, Darwin/Palmerston, Northern Territory, Palmerston metropolitan area. The only other division in the territory, the Division of Lingiari, covers the remainder of the territory. Geography Federal electoral division boundaries in Australia are determined at Redistribution (Australia), redistributions by a redistribution committee appointed by the Australian Electoral Commission. Electoral Division Of Sanderson
Sanderson is an electoral division of the Legislative Assembly in Australia's Northern Territory. It was first created in 1974, and derives its name from the name initially given to the area in 1879, before its division into suburbs. Sanderson is an urban electorate, covering 21 km2 and taking in the Darwin suburbs of Anula, Marrara, Wulagi and part of Malak. There were 5,449 people enrolled in the electorate as of August 2020. Sanderson is a bellwether seat that has only tended to change hands at times of major political change in the Territory. It was initially won by the Country Liberal Party's Liz Andrew in 1974, when the CLP won all but two seats in the Assembly (both of which went to independents). The Darwin Waterfront Precinct is a tourist area in the Northern Territory of Australia in Darwin City. The City of Palmerston is a local government area of the Northern Territory of Australia. It contains the suburbs of Darwin's satellite city, Palmerston, and is situated between the outer industrial areas of Darwin and the rural areas of Howard Springs. The Division of Lingiari () is an Divisions of the Australian House of Representatives, Australian electoral division in the Northern Territory that covers the entirety of the territory outside of the Division of Solomon, which covers Darwin, Northern Territory, Darwin and surrounding areas. The division also includes the territories of Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Lingiari includes all of the Northern Territory's remote Indigenous Australians, Indigenous communities, most of whom vote when visited by mobile polling teams during the election campaign.
