Diving (association Football)
In association football, diving is an attempt by a player to gain an unfair advantage by falling to the ground and, often, feigning injury to give the impression that a foul (football), foul has been committed. Dives are often used to exaggerate the amount of contact made during a tackle (football move), challenge. Deciding whether a player has dived is often very subjective and among the most controversial areas of football discussion. Motivations for diving include receiving scoring opportunities via Direct free kick, free kicks or Penalty kick (association football), penalty kicks or gaining a team advantage by invoking a penalty card for the opposition. Alistair Murdoch McCoist (; born 24 September 1962) is a Scottish former association football, footballer who has since worked as a Manager (association football), manager and TV pundit. Kenny Clark (referee)
Kenny Clark (born 1 November 1961) is a Scottish former football referee in the Scottish Premier League and was, until 2006 also on the FIFA International list and the 2007–08 season was his final season as a Category 1 Referee. Jim McIntyre (footballer)
James McIntyre (born 24 May 1972) is a Scottish football coach and former player who was most recently the manager of Arbroath. McIntyre played mainly as a striker or as a left midfielder. During his playing career he played for Bristol City, Exeter City, Airdrieonians, Kilmarnock, Reading, Dundee United and Dunfermline Athletic. He started his managerial career with Dunfermline Athletic followed by a scouting role at Bristol City. He then managed Queen of the South and Ross County, winning the Scottish League Cup in March 2016 with County. Nikica Jelavić (; born 27 August 1985) is a Croatian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Omatsone Folarin Aluko (born 19 February 1989) is a professional football coach and former player who played as a forward or winger. He is currently a first team coach at Ipswich Town.
