Distribution Of Seats In Austrian Provincial Parliaments
The Austrian provincial parliaments are the unicameral legislatures of the nine Austrian provinces, according to the Constitution of Austria deciding in all matters unless explicitly subject of federal legislation. On federal level the provincial parliaments are represented in the Federal Council. Nine political parties are represented in the provincial parliaments, of which six are represented in more than one. Currently, the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ), and Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) are represented in all nine provincial parliaments. The Greens are represented in eight, and NEOS – The New Austria (NEOS) is represented in six. Unicameralism (from ''uni''- "one" + Latin ''camera'' "chamber") is a type of legislature, which consists of one house or assembly, that legislates and votes as one. Unicameral legislatures exist when there is no widely perceived need for multicameralism ( two or more chambers). Many multicameral legislatures were created to give separate voices to different sectors of society. Multiple houses allowed, for example, for a guaranteed representation of different social classes (as in the Parliament of the United Kingdom or the French States-General). Team Carinthia (german: Team Kärnten, TK), formerly Team Stronach Carinthia, is a political party in the Austrian state of Carinthia. It emerged from the Carinthian regional organization of the now defunct Team Stronach. In the media, it is attested to have a populist orientation. 2023 Lower Austrian State Election
The 2023 Lower Austrian state election was held on 29 January 2023 to elect the members of the Landtag of Lower Austria, Landtag of Lower Austria. The ruling conservative Austrian People's Party, ÖVP lost almost 10 percentage points and received slightly less than 40 % of the vote, making it their worst election result in Lower Austria's history. The Landtag of Lower Austria is the state parliament of the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It exercises the state legislation (legislature). The seat of the Landtag is in St. Pölten in the Landhausviertel. The Lower Austrian Parliament is composed of 56 members of parliament. The term of office is five years. 2020 Burgenland State Election
The 2020 Burgenland state election was held on 26 January 2020 to elect the members of the 22nd Landtag of Burgenland. The snap election was called in the wake of the Ibiza affair in May 2019, which caused the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) to terminate its coalition with the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). The centre-left SPÖ achieved its best result since 2005, winning an absolute majority on a swing of eight percentage points. NEOS – The New Austria and Liberal Forum (german: NEOS – Das Neue Österreich und Liberales Forum) is a liberal political party in Austria. It was founded as NEOS – The New Austria in 2012.
