Disco (TV Series)
''Disco'' was a pop music program that aired in West Germany on the ZDF network from 1971 to 1982. It generally aired on the first Saturday of each month at 7:30PM, each show running 45 minutes. 133 shows were produced. The show was hosted by German actor and comedian Ilja Richter. Its lesser known predecessor on ZDF, ''4-3-2-1 Hot & Sweet'' was aired between 1966 and 1970, presenters included Ilja Richter and Suzanne Doucet. ''Disco'' generally served a younger pop-oriented audience compared to ZDF's own '' Hitparade'' show, and until 1972, its main competitor was '' Beat-Club'' (originally patterned after the pure live-act show ''Ready Steady Go!'' in the UK, from the late-1960s turning more and more into psychedelic music videos made especially for the invited acts), followed by '' Musikladen'', both on ARD. Ilja Richter
Ilja Richter (born 24 November 1952) is a German actor, voice actor, television presenter, singer, theatre director and author, best known as the presenter of the ZDF show ''Disco''. Life Richter was born in East Berlin to Georg and Eva Richter. Georg was a Communist, who named Ilja after the Russian journalist Ilya Ehrenburg, and Eva was a Jew who survived the Third Reich under a fake Aryan identity. Georg spent nine and a half years in concentration camps during the Third Reich. After the family was in political difficulties in East Germany, they moved to West Berlin in 1953. There, the Richters leased a restaurant. In 1955, Ilja's sister Janina was born, and in 1959 they moved to Cologne. There, too, the Richters ran a restaurant, but moved back in 1960 to West Berlin, where they opened a guesthouse. ZDF Dokukanal
ZDFdokukanal was a TV station which operated between 1 April 2000 and 31 October 2009 and was part of the digital TV package offered by ZDF. Distribution The program was broadcast nationwide via TV cable networks (DVB-C) and the satellite Astra 19.2°E (DVB-S). In the regions where DVB-T was available, ZDFdokukanal could be also received via antenna between 9 pm and 6 am, alternating with KiKa. It was also included in the IPTV offer of some DSL providers. Hit24 was a German television channel that mainly broadcast music from the field of rock and roll and pop. The 24-hour special-interest programme featured music clips, hosted music programmes and live concerts. Broadcasting started on 3 April 2004. The target group was the over 30-year-olds. ZDFtheaterkanal was a TV station and part of the digital TV package offered by ZDF. The channel was broadcast daily from 9 am until 2 am the following day, starting on 9 December 1999. The broadcasting was stopped on 7 May 2011 in favor of ZDFkultur. The program was broadcast nationwide via the TV cable network (DVB-C) and the Astra 19.2°E (DVB-S). In addition, the channel was accessible via the IPTV offers Telekom Entertain and as well as with via Zattoo. In the summer of 2008, plans were presented to convert ''ZDFtheaterkanal'' into a cultural channel. 3sat (, ''Dreisat'') is a free-to-air German-language public service television channel. It is a generalist channel with a cultural focus and is jointly operated by public broadcasters from Germany ( ZDF, ARD), Austria ( ORF) and Switzerland ( SRG SSR).
