The Roman Catholic Diocese of Digos (Latin: ''Dioecesis Digosensis'') is a diocese of the Catholic Church in the Philippines. Erected in 1979, the diocese was created from territory in the Archdiocese of Davao. The diocese has experienced no jurisdictional changes, and is currently a suffragan of the archdiocese. The current bishop is Guillermo Dela Vega Afable, appointed in 2003. The 2 provinces of Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental are under the jurisdiction of this diocese. The Diocese of Pagadian () is a Latin Church ecclesiastical jurisdiction or diocese of the Catholic Church in the Philippines. Created on November 12, 1971, the diocese was initially a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Zamboanga. With the ceding of the municipality of Margosatubig of the Ipil Prelature to the Diocese of Pagadian in January 1995, the diocese now has 24 parishes under its jurisdiction. The Catholic Christian population covered by the diocese is now 711,244 that comprises 72% of the total population of the area of about 2,860 square kilometers. Ronald Lunas
Ronald Ignacio Lunas (27 November 1966 – 2 January 2024) was a Filipino Roman Catholic prelate who served as bishop of Pagadian (2018–2024). Biography Lunas studied philosophy and Catholic theology in Davao City and received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Digos on 7 April 1992. After a short period of work in pastoral care in the Immaculate Conception Parish in Caburan, Lunas stayed in Rome from 1993 to 1996 for further studies. He obtained a licentiate in theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University. After returning home, he was initially a lecturer and later director of the St. Francis Xavier regional seminary in Davao City. From 2005 to 2008, he was chancellor of the diocesan curia and then pastor in Davao City.
