August Sander
August Sander (17 November 1876 – 20 April 1964) was a German portrait photography, portrait and Documentary photography, documentary photographer. His first book ''Face of our Time'' (German: ''Antlitz der Zeit'') was published in 1929. Sander has been described as "the most important German portrait photographer of the early twentieth century". Sander's work includes landscape, nature, architecture, and street photography, but he is best known for his portraits, as exemplified by his series ''People of the 20th Century''. In this series, he aims to show a cross-section of society during the Weimar Republic. August Sander Archive
The August Sander Archive () comprises the estate of the German photographer August Sander and is part of the collection of Die Photographische Sammlung/SK Stiftung Kultur, in Cologne. The photographic work has been kept there since 1993 with a large number of original photographs, negatives and documents. History When August Sander died in 1964, his son, Gunther Sander, took control of the estate. After his death in 1987, his son Gerd Sander managed the artistic legacy before he sold it to the Kulturstiftung der Stadtsparkasse Köln (now SK Stiftung Kultur der Sparkasse Köln Bonn) in December 1992, equating it with the name August Sander Archive. Since then, the estate, and thus the August Sander Archive, has been looked after by the Photographische Sammlung / SK Stiftung Kultur in Cologne and processed from an academic museum perspective. A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unique digital identifier that is recorded on a blockchain and is used to certify ownership and authenticity. It cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided. Judith Joy Ross (born 1946) is an American portrait photographer. Her books include ''Contemporaries'' (1995), ''Portraits'' (1996), ''Portraits of the Hazleton Public Schools'' (2006) and ''Protest the War'' (2007), "exploring such themes as the innocence of youth, the faces of political power, and the emotional toll of war". Tata Ronkholz
Tata Ronkholz (1940–1997) was a German photographer and designer. She was a member of the Düsseldorf School of Photography. Biography Ronkholz was born in Krefeld under the maiden name Roswitha Tölle. From 1961 to 1965 she studied architecture and interior design at the Werkkunstschule Krefeld. After working at the Schroer furniture store in Krefeld from 1965 to 1966, she worked as a freelance product designer until 1977. She came into contact with photography through her husband Coco Ronkholz, who was responsible for producing a catalogue for Bernd Becher. In 1977, Ronkholz began studying at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Rosalind Fox Solomon (April 2, 1930 – June 23, 2025) was an American photographer based in New York City. In 2007, the University of Arizona's Center for Creative Photography acquired Solomon's archive, which includes her photographic archive, books and video work. In 2019, she received the International Center of Photography's Lifetime Achievement Infinity Award.
