Dick and Dom (originally Richard and Dominic) are a British comedy double act consisting of the presenters Richard "Dick" McCourt and Dominic "Dom" Wood. They are primarily known for presenting 'the broom cupboard' presentation links on Children's BBC in the 1990s and early 2000s, before moving onto the double BAFTA Award winning '' Dick & Dom in da Bungalow'', a children's entertainment show that was broadcast live during weekend mornings on BBC One, CBBC and later BBC Two. Absolute Genius With Dick And Dom
''Absolute Genius with Dick and Dom'' is a British television series broadcast on CBBC and presented by Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood (Dick and Dom). In each episode the duo study the work of a genius (3 in later series) and attempt to recreate one of their ideas, occasionally with some improvements using technology not available in the subject's lifetime. They are assisted by Fran Scott (credited as Science Consultant) and experts in the field of what is being studied. The series was one of several commissioned by the BBC to interest young children in science, it follows the success of Professor Brian Cox who has been credited with making teenagers interested in the subject. The BBC chose Dick and Dom as the appropriate presenters for the intended age group. ''Dick & Dom in da Bungalow'' is a British children's television series presented by the duo Dick and Dom (Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood). The series was broadcast on weekend mornings on various BBC television channels for five series, running between 31 August 2002 and 11 March 2006. Creation McCourt and Wood met whilst presenting CBBC's The Broom Cupboard, and were invited to create a new Saturday morning show to air on CBBC's new digital channel. The name In da Bungalow was suggested by the BBC as a parody of Ali G Indahouse, and aired directly against SM:TV Live with H and Claire from Steps, and The Saturday Show on BBC One with Fearne Cotton and Simon Grant. Richard McCourt
Richard "Dick" McCourt (born 12 August 1976) is an English entertainer and presenter. He is best known as one half of the comic duo Dick and Dom, with the other being Dominic Wood. His older brother is fellow television presenter James McCourt. Education McCourt was educated at Tapton School, a state comprehensive in Sheffield. At Norton College, building on his experience as a volunteer at Sheffield's hospital radio station, he studied audio, video and print media, receiving the BTEC National Diploma in media production in 1994. Television McCourt gained his experience in Sheffield presenting Hospital Television and local television throughout the early '90s. He is best known for co-presenting, with Dominic Wood, '' Dick & Dom in da Bungalow''. Dick and Dom's Hoopla was a CBBC children's entertainment television series presented by the duo Dick and Dom (Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood). It was first broadcast in September 2012 and was shown every Friday evening on the CBBC Channel. The show saw the duo running their own travelling funfair and contestants of all ages play games to try to get to the finale. ''Blue Peter'' is a British children's television entertainment programme created by John Hunter Blair. It is the longest-running children's TV show in the world, having been broadcast since October 1958. ''The Mansions of the Gods'' is the seventeenth graphic novel of the Asterix comic book series, written by René Goscinny and illustrated by Albert Uderzo and released in 1971. ''Bananas in Pyjamas'' is an Australian children's television series that first aired on 20 July 1992 on ABC. It has since been syndicated in many countries and dubbed into other languages.
