Dataindustrier AB (literal translation: computer industries shareholding company) or DIAB was a Swedish computer engineering and manufacturing firm, founded in 1970 by Lars Karlsson and active in the 1970s through 1990s. The company's first product was a board-based computer centered on a specific bus named ''Data Board 4680''. This unit was used for automatic control in several Swedish industries as would be almost all of DIAB's computers. DIAB is mostly known for engineering the ABC 80, the first Swedish home computer, manufactured by Luxor AB. They would subsequently develop all the ABC-models (''ABC 800'', ''ABC 1600'' and ''ABC 9000'') before rebranding their own make of the ABC 9000 as ''DIAB DS-90'' and develop a series of Unix-compatible computers, using code licensed from AT&T Version 5 Unix release, but with a unique in-house kernel using the brand name DNIX. Najeeb Diab full name Najeeb Moussa Diab ( ar, نجيب موسى دياب; August 6, 1870 – July 11, 1936) was an early Syrian nationalist, founding owner of major Arabic language newspaper, publisher of Khalil Gibran and major force behind development of Arab-American '' Al Mahjar'' literary movement. Life and career Najeeb Diab was born in the village of Roumieh, Mount Lebanon (now Lebanon), on August 6, 1870. Following his early education in Lebanon, he attended college in Assiut, Egypt. In 1891 he married Katherine Saba, and they immigrated to the United States from Alexandria, Egypt in 1893. While residing temporarily in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with his wife's brother's family, Diab wrote for '' Kawkab America'', the United States' first Arabic language newspaper. Ain-Diab Circuit
The Ain-Diab Circuit ( ar, دارة عين الذئاب, Dāra ʿAyn aḏ-Ḏiʾāb) was a Formula One road circuit built in 1957, southwest of Ain-Diab in Morocco, using the existing coast road and the main road from Casablanca to Azemmour that ran through the Sidi Abderhaman forest. Prior to 1957, the Anfa Circuit and the Agadir circuit were used for the Moroccan Grand Prix. The course was designed by the Royal Automobile Club of Morocco and given a full blessing from Sultan Mohammed V. It took six weeks to construct. The site hosted a non-championship F1 race in 1957. On 19 October 1958 the course was the venue for the 1958 Moroccan Grand Prix, the final round in the 1958 Formula One season. It was won by Stirling Moss driving a Vanwall, completing the 53 laps in 2h 09m 15.1s. Ain Diab ( ar, عين الذئاب) is a commune located at the Corniche of Casablanca, Morocco. The commune is affluent and famous for the fashionable stretch of coastline known as the Corniche. There are numerous hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, and Lalla Meryem Beach and Ain Diab Beach. There is also the ribat and island of Sidi Abderrahman, which is now connected to the mainland by bridge. Ain Diab hosted a round of the Formula One World Championship in 1958. Amongst the notable residents is the British-born writer Tahir Shah. The first McDonald's franchise in Africa and in the Arab world opened on Ain Diab in 1992. Rashid Diab ( ar, راشد دياب, Wad Madani, Sudan, 1957) is a Sudanese painter, visual artist and art historian. Life and artistic career Diab studied at the School of Fine and Applied Arts in Khartoum, from which he graduated in 1978 with honours.
