Dharsiwa is one of the 90 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Chhattisgarh state in India. It is in Raipur district and is a part of the Lok Sabha constituency of Raipur. Anuj Sharma of Bharatiya Janata Party was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly from this seat in the 2023 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly elections defeating Chhaya Verma and replaced Anita Yogendra Sharma of Indian National Congress as the new incumbent. Ramanuj Sharma (born 15 May 1976), popularly known as Anuj Sharma, is an Indian politician and film, stage and television personality in Chhattisgarhi cinema He was awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, by the Government of India in 2014, for his services in the field of arts. He is the first film personality from Chhattisgarh to receive the Padma Shri award. He is also an MLA from Dharsiwa Assembly constituency representing Bharatiya Janata Party. Biography Sharma was born to Teken Lal Sharma and Dehuti Sharma at Bhatapara in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. He did his schooling at Bhatapara and later, secured a master's degree in history from the Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur. He married Smita Sharma and they have two children. 2018 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Election
The 2018 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly election was held to elect members to the Legislative Assembly of the Indian State of Chhattisgarh. The election was held in two phases for a total of 90 seats; the first for 18 seats in South Chhattisgarh on 12 November 2018, and the second for the remaining 72 on 20 November. The INC got a landslide victory winning 68 seats against the ruling BJP's 15 seats, and consequently formed the government after 15 years as opposition party. Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly election 2013 was held in two phases on 11 and 19 November in Chhattisgarh state of India. The result was announced on 8 December. Incumbent ruling party BJP and Chief Minister Raman Singh retained the majority in assembly and formed government consequently for the third time. Polls Voter-verified paper audit trail (VVPAT) along with EVMs was used in 1 assembly seat in Chhattisgarh elections. Elections to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly were held in November 1998. The Indian National Congress won a majority of seats and Digvijaya Singh was sworn in as the new Chief Minister for the second time.
