''Devět kruhů pekla'' (English: ''Nine Circles of Hell'') is a 1988 Czechoslovak drama film directed by Milan Muchna. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival. The film describes the Khmer Rouge period in Cambodia. Tomáš is a Czech doctor working in Phnom Penh and Khema is famous Khmer actress. Plot ''Nine Circles of Hell'' is a tragic love story of a Czech doctor and a Cambodian woman who marry and have a child but are then separated by the Democratic Kampuchea, Khmer Rouge regime. The young mother dies from their atrocities and the Czech doctor is sent back to Czechoslovakia. When the Khmer Rouge are driven from power, the doctor returns and is reunited with his child. ''The Killing Fields'' is a 1984 biographical drama film about the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia, which is based on the experiences of two journalists, Cambodian Dith Pran and American Sydney Schanberg. It was directed by Roland Joffé and produced by David Puttnam for his company Goldcrest Films. Sam Waterston stars as Schanberg, Haing S. Ngor as Pran, and John Malkovich as Al Rockoff. Milan Lasica (; 3 February 1940 – 18 July 2021) was a popular Slovak comedian, actor, singer, writer, lyricist and satirist. Active from 1961 to his death, he was known from his double act with Július Satinský and their collaboration with musician Jaroslav Filip and other Slovak and Czech comedians and actors. Jan Andreas Schmid (born 24 November 1983) is a Norwegian former nordic combined skier, of Swiss origin. He won two medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec with a silver in the 10 km individual normal hill event and a bronze in the 4 x 5 km team event. Competing two Winter Olympics for Switzerland, he earned his best finish of fourth in the 4 x 5 km team event at Turin in 2006. Schmid also competed in two World Championships for Switzerland.
