"Devil in the Bottle" is a song written by Bobby David and recorded by American country music artist T. G. Sheppard (not counting his two earlier non-country singles issued as by "Brian Stacy"). It was released in October 1974 as his debut single and the first from his album ''T. G. Sheppard'', and reached number one on the U.S. country singles chart. The single spent a single week at number one and a total of ten weeks on the chart. The single was released on the Melodyland Label, a country music, Motown subsidiary. Gary Robert Rossington (born December 4, 1951) is an American guitarist. He is the only remaining original member of Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, in which he plays lead and rhythm guitar. In 2009, he became the last original member to remain in the band, and became the last surviving original member in 2019. Rossington was also a founding member of the Rossington Collins Band, along with former bandmate Allen Collins. Early life Rossington's mother recalled that he had a strong childhood interest in baseball and aspired as a child to one day play for the New York Yankees. Rossington recalled that he was a "good ball player" but upon hearing the Rolling Stones in his early teens he became interested in music and ultimately gave up on his baseball aspirations. John Roy Van Zant (born February 27, 1959), also known as Johnny Van Zant, is an American singer and the current lead vocalist of Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. He is the younger brother of Lynyrd Skynyrd co-founder and former lead vocalist Ronnie Van Zant, and of the 38 Special founder Donnie Van Zant. Lynyrd Skynyrd ( ) is an American rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida.
