Deputy Prime Minister Of Oman
The deputy prime minister of Oman is a political position in the Cabinet of Oman. The deputy prime minister is the second highest ranking title in the executive branch of the Government of Oman after the Sultan. The main role of the deputy prime minister is to chair the cabinet meeting in the absence of the Sultan. The deputy prime minister is appointed by the Sultan. Traditionally, Sultans have appointed several deputy prime ministers serving concurrently. Fahr Bin Taimur Al Said
Sayyid Fahr bin Taimur Al Said (), born in 1925, was an Omani royal and politician. He served as the Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs from 1977 to 1996, during the reign of his nephew, Sultan Qaboos bin Said. Fahr was one of the sons of Sultan Taimur bin Feisal, and one of the half-brothers of Sultan Said bin Taimur. He studied in Mayo College, India, in the 1950s. During the reign of Said bin Taimur, Fahr was appointed wali, but fled the country in 1962. He returned from exile after Sultan Qaboos took power. Qais Bin Abdul Munim Al Zawawi
Qais bin ʿAbdul-Munʿim Az-Zawāwī ( ar, قَيْس بِن عَبْدُ ٱلْمُنْعِم ٱلزَّوَاوِي; 27 August 1935 – 11 September 1995) was the second foreign minister for the Sultanate of Oman, and later from 1982 served as Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Financial affairs until his tragic death on September 11, 1995, in the Salalah accident, whilst in the car with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, and his brother Dr Omar bin Abdul-Mun'im Al-Zawawi, the external liaison for the Sultan.
