Department Of Health (Victoria)
The Department of Health (DH) is a department of the Government of Victoria. It was formed from the splitting of Department of Health and Human Services into the DH and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The DH is focused on delivery of health and wellbeing services throughout Victoria. The department commenced operations on 1 February 2021 with Euan Wallace, previously acting secretary of DHHS, as its inaugural secretary, and Martin Foley as the coordinating minister at the time. Department Of Health And Human Services (Victoria)
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) was a government department in Victoria, Australia. Commencing operation on 1 January 2015, it was responsible for the state's health system, as well as various other aspects of social policy. The DHHS was formed following machinery of government changes in the aftermath of the 2014 state election, assuming the functions of the previous Department of Health and Department of Human Services, respectively. After further re-structures in January 2019, the department's responsibilities relating to sport and recreation were instead transferred to the newly created Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions. On 30 November 2020, the Premier announced that Health and Human Services functions would be separated into a new Department of Health (DoH) and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH). Mary-Anne Thomas (born 26 February 1963) is an Australian politician. She has been a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly since November 2014, representing the electorate of Macedon. Martin Peter Foley (born 17 May 1962) is a former Australian politician. He was a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly between 2007 and 2022, representing Albert Park. He was the Minister for Equality in the First and Second Andrews Ministry between December 2014 and June 2022 and the Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services between September 2020 and June 2022.
