Denmark In The Eurovision Song Contest 2025
Denmark was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the song "Hallucination", written by Chris Rohde-Frisk, Line Spangsberg, Linnea Deb, Malthe Johansen, , Melanie Wehbe, and Sissal Jóhanna Norðberg Niclasen, and performed by Sissal herself. The Danish participating broadcaster, the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR), organised the national final ''2025'' in order to select its entry for the contest. Denmark was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 15 May 2025 and was later selected to perform in position 11. At the end of the show, "Hallucination" was announced among the top 10 entries of the second semi-final and hence qualified to compete in the final, marking the first qualification for the country since 2019. DR (broadcaster)
DR (), officially the Danish Broadcasting Corporation in English, is a Danish public-service radio and television broadcasting company. Founded in 1925 as a public-service organization, it is Denmark's oldest and largest electronic media enterprise. DR shares many of its organisational characteristics with its British counterpart, the BBC, on which it was largely modelled. DR is a founding member of the European Broadcasting Union. "Sand" is a song by Danish singer and actress Saba, released on 25 January 2024 by Warner Music Denmark. Self-described as a song about the feeling of losing control, it was written by Jonas Thander, Melanie Wehbe, and Pil Kalinka Nygaard Jeppesen. The song represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Background and composition "Sand" was written and composed by Jonas Thander, Melanie Wehbe, and Pil Kalinka Nygaard Jeppesen. In interviews, Saba stated the song is a way of means of expressing the feeling of losing control, using the metaphor of sand slipping and falling through one's hands as a metaphor for the song. Paul Jimmy Thörnfeldt (born 14 March 1976), also known professionally as Jimmy Joker or simply Joker, is a Swedish songwriter and record producer. Andri Xhahu (born 30 April 1987) is an Albanian television and radio presenter, journalist and editor, who works for RTSH.
