Denis Vasilyevich Davydov (, ; – ) was a Russian soldier-poet of the Napoleonic Wars who invented the genre of hussar poetry, characterised by hedonism and bravado. He used events from his own life to illustrate such poetry. He suggested and successfully pioneered guerrilla warfare in the Patriotic War of 1812 against Napoleon. Biography Davydov stemmed from a family of Russian nobility with, as he claimed, Tatar roots. After gaining celebrity as a guerrilla leader in the French invasion of Russia he became one of the most popular men in the country. Young men of Alexander Pushkin's circle viewed him as a model romantic hero and the Decembrists prized his company as well. He was high-spirited, healthy, virile, unromantic, and shallow. Denis Alekseyevich Davydov (; born 22 March 1995) is a Russian former professional footballer who played as a winger or second striker. Club career He made his debut in the Russian Premier League for FC Spartak Moscow on 28 September 2013 in a game against FC Zenit St. Petersburg. On 19 February 2019, he was released from his contract by FC Spartak Moscow by mutual consent. On 27 February 2019, he signed with FC Nizhny Novgorod. On 28 May 2019, he joined Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia. After featuring only on rare occasions for the team, Davidov decided to cancel his contract with the "redmen" in the spring of 2020.
